AAR Japan started working in Turkey in response to Van Earthquake 2011 and was one of the first international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) on the ground responding to the Syrian Crisis. Since 2012, AAR Japan has implemented cross-sectoral projects on basic needs, education, food security, protection and health targeting urban refugees in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Istanbul.

The project’s overall goal, on one hand, is to contribute in building a protective environment for people with disabilities by addressing their health issues, protection risks, and their vulnerabilities and on the other hand, facilitating durable solutions for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in their interest.

AAR Japan is looking for a Case Management Manager who will be positioned in Istanbul Office with frequent business trips to other offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Case Management

  • Support AAR SMT in strategy development including the development of high-quality proposals and associated budgets,
  • Review Case Management weekly and monthly reports and provide input for donor reports and proposals,
  • Develop, implement and maintain compliance with policies and procedures regarding the Refugee Programme of AAR Japan, especially Case Management,
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Case Management Programmes to facilitate the use of appropriate resources and services,
  • Ensure technical integrity of case management through case committee decision-making and within the case management cycle, including on-demand task assistance,
  • Develop staff capacity in Case Management in the context of refugees/displaced persons, including interventions and best-practices on Case Management for vulnerable and at-risk persons of concern,
  • Monitor and evaluate Case Management projects ensuring quality of services and protection mainstreaming, regular reviewing of process and practices, and in appraising the performance of Case Management staff,
  • Create and maintain constructive coordination, including referral pathways, with various stakeholders and service providers, including the Government, Local Authorities, UN and NGOs,

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • At least 5 years professional experience with 3 years in a relevant field of work preferably in social work background.
  • Excellent and up to date knowledge and capacity in the area of work including labour management
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a relevant educational field

 

  • Experience/ability to develop CM strategy and policies
  • Experience/ability to build staff capacity and to facilitate/deliver engaging training sessions
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and multi-cultural work environment sometimes under extreme pressure

Desirable:

  • 4 years or more of the relevant field of work at a similar level of responsibilities.
  • International professional experience
  • Ability to speak and write Turkish and/or Arabic fluently

 

OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Start day: As soon as possible
  • Work location: Istanbul with occasional business trips inside Turkey
  • Condition: Salary and other conditions will be in accordance with AAR Japan’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
