Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an international humanitarian organization that helps people in need in over 15 countries. We started to work in Turkey in response to Van Earthquake 2011 and was one of the first international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) on the ground responding to the Syrian Crisis. Since 2012, AAR Japan has implemented cross-sectoral projects on basic needs, education, food security, protection and health targeting refugees in Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Mardin and Istanbul.

Case Worker

Based in Gaziantep Province

Reports to: Case Management OfficerDuration:  (Start Date – December 2018)

General Position Summary

The job holder will be responsible for the case management activities to support the most vulnerable populations by providing service guidance and individualized assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist team mapping of service providers,
  • Assist the team following up extremely vulnerable individuals or households with special needs preparing the required response or referring to relevant authorities or organizations,
  • Undertake assessment of beneficiaries who have urgent needs,
  • Communicate with the beneficiaries directly during the case management cycle to provide timely response,
  • Translate the supporting documents and act as an interpreter when required,
  • Monitor, review and follow up the cases which have been provided assistance,
  • Draft weekly and monthly reports on project activities in English
  • Conduct other works assigned by the Employer,

Qualifications

Essentials:

  • Minimum High School Graduated
  • Ability to speak Arabic and English Fluently
  • The ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel (Turkish and Syrian) is required.
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Having Turkish Identity or Similar Conditions to work in Turkey

Desirables:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree
  • Experience in Teaching
  • Working experience in related field
  • Ability to speak Kurdish and/or Turkish
  • Facilitation Skills
