Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an international humanitarian organization that helps people in need in over 15 countries. We started to work in Turkey in response to Van Earthquake 2011 and was one of the first international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) on the ground responding to the Syrian Crisis. Since 2012, AAR Japan has implemented cross-sectoral projects on basic needs, education, food security, protection and health targeting refugees in Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Mardin and Istanbul.

Field Worker (Volunteer*)

Based in Gaziantep Province
 
Reports to: Case Management Officer
Duration: 3 Months (October-December 2018)
*This position requires more willing to work in the humanitarian field. We are looking for people who has eager to work in the field with professional humanitarian workers. In this position, you will have Social Security (SGK) and monthly incentives as  cash and you will work in same conditions with the other workers.

General Position Summary

The job holder will be responsible for the implementation of outreach activities to conduct rapid assessment of refugees in Gaziantep to improve protection environment, and to disseminate key information and messages .

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct door to door visits of refugees households (rapid assessment and information dissemination),
  • Identify and refer persons with disabilities at risk to Case Management unit,
  • Support Case Management Officer and Case Workers about communication with community leaders and community focal points,
  • Facilitate community meetings and events,
  • Conduct awareness-raising activities on disability focused subjects,
  • Mobilize the community to establish community-level steering committee and self-help and peer support groups to support persons with disabilities and their families
  • Updating records of activities,
  • Abide to AAR Japan code of conduct and safety and security policies and procedures,
  • Conduct other works assigned by the Employer,

Qualifications

Essentials:
  • Minimum High School Graduated
  • Experience of taking initiative and being proactive
  • Ability to speak Arabic as native
  • Communication in a positive and diplomatic way.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Having Turkish Nationality or same conditions to work in Turkey
Desirables:
  • Bachelor or Master degree
  • Experience in Teaching
  • Ability to speak Kurdish, English and Turkish
  • Facilitation Skills
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office
