Shafak was officially established in 10-10-2013 (registration no.27-016-129). It was founded during the early months of the Syrian Crisis in2011. At its core, Shafak is a grassroots NGO that was formed by Syrians forSyrians, with the intent of addressing the needs of their life with dignity,equality and humanity with a focus on sustainability and autonomy.

Shafak is an impartial, independent, non-profit NGO that exists for theexpress purpose of providing humanitarian services to vulnerable peopleregardless of political or religious affiliations and on the long run tocontribute to recover and rebuilding the society on freedom, justice andequality basis.

Role Purpose

As a video or film editor, you'll beresponsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished product that'ssuitable for publishing and sharing. The material may include camera footage,dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects. This is a key role inthe post-production process and your skills can determine the quality anddelivery of the final product. You'll usually work closely with the director toachieve the desired end result.

Key areas of accountability andresponsibilities:

·        Montage for videos for projects in a professional way that serves thevision of the Organization.

·        Montage for humanitarian stories and documentaries films related tohumanitarian work.

·        Lead and guide the media team inside of Syria regarding the video field.

·        Contribute to writing scenarios for videos.

·        Edit photos to include; creating color correct RAW product photography,correcting lens distortion, removing blemishes, cropping to fit standardizedspecifications and adding items to an image to create a realistic room setting.Maintain specifications and consistency across a large catalog.

·        Receive footage shot by other crew members and cut a story with video,effects and sound in a captivating style.

·        Suggest new ideas in the field of videos and media that contribute todeveloping the level of work.

·        Be proficient in organizing media, project setup, editing, onlining,archiving video, delivery, and managing digital assets

·        Keep update for the developments of media channels in the field ofvideo.

·        Have quick response and ability to bearing work pressure.

·        Be able to work within a complementary creative team.

·        Perform other information tasks requested by the direct manager to servethe work.

Required Qualifications, Experienceand Attributes

·        Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere / After Effect / Animation / Auditionsoftware

·        Having at least two years’ experience in the field of montage and videoediting

·        At least two years of previous experience in humanitarian work.

·        Strong analytical skills, proven problem solving-ability, and ability todevelop and follow-through with creative solutions for design and developmenttasks.

·        Contribute to the development of digital media strategy, tactics,planning and process by applying continuous improvement methods. Evaluate andreport on the practical application of new technologies appropriate to the areaof responsibility.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Proficiency in written and spoken English language.

·        Must be available for occasional after work hours or in weekend.

·        Living in or willing to move to Gaziantep.

·        Turkish Nationality is preferred
