Job Details
TIYYD is seeking a new Administrative Assistant to boost our operations work as we develop core functions to better enable our deep-impact programs. You will provide key support in various operational functions including logistics, finance, HR and general administrative work that supports the TIYYD team.

ABOUT KARAM HOUSE
Karam House is an innovative workspace for Syrian refugee teens, in Istanbul and Reyhanli, Turkey, which defy traditional approaches to refugee education. At Karam Houses, hundreds of Syrian refugee teens learn through access to technology (maker spaces, internet, computers), expert mentorship (Syrians refugee architects and engineers), and a sophisticated design-based curriculum (developed by MIT grads) that teaches youth how to build their ideas and their community.
We think about refugees and humanitarian aid differently and so we do things differently. We believe in investing deeply in communities affected by conflict.
What We’re Looking For: The Essentials

University degree or college diploma public administration, business administration or related field.

Up to 2 years in administrative work or related field

Strong teamwork skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Critical-thinker and problem-solver

Advanced proficiency in Turkish required

Arabic advanced proficiency required

Turkish Citizen or Istanbul issued Residency Permit
What We’re Looking For: Strongly Preferred

Experience working on Syria.

Experience working with and managing remote teams

Strong English

Experience with Google Drive and various software applications
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will provide support to specific staff teams and to the organization as a whole. While your responsibilities will vary, some will include:
Staff Support:
-
Coordinating, booking, and recording staff/guest travel and facilitating transportation for staff and guests

Scheduling meetings and routine visits with service providers
Operations Support Activities:

Supporting the logistics department in vendor coordination

Assisting with record keeping (transactions) and document storage

Processing and directing mail and deliveries

Managing the phone system
-
Overseeing office maintenance, staff room supplies, and welcoming visitors
LOCATION: Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, Turkey
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Saturday - Wednesday.
COMPENSATION: Based on the candidate's level of experience, qualifications, and the organization's salary scale in Turkish Lira.
