ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the country director and working in close collaboration with the Head of Programme, programs team, and other departments, the Business Development and partnership advisor will support, and enhance quality, coherence, impact, sustainability and synergy of all programs implemented by Violet in Syria and Turkey. S/he will disseminate and monitor the implementation of Violet`s programs and activities, playing a lead role in fundraising and advocacy work of the country program. The Business Development and partnership advisor will be based in Antakya, but he/she will be required to travel to Gaziantep and other cities inside and outside Turkey.

Role Purpose

  • Take a lead and assisting the CD in developing a strong relationship with partners to ensure sustainable funding of programs. Also, support and enable an adaptive approach in the Violet funded programming, and representing Violet when needed in meetings and workshops.
  • Strengthen the quality and impact of Violet's development and humanitarian programmes, in particular, those funded by Violet`s international partners but also any others implemented as part of our Programme Strategy and ensuring high-quality programme review and reporting, ongoing learning and adherence to accountability commitments.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with MEAL and programs teams to ensure alignment and cross-learning with Violet overall programme management approach, strengthen the performance management systems and capacity in Violet and support programmes to implement these and feed lessons into future work and decisions.
  • Work with the senior management team to develop operational budgets, which reflect a detailed understanding of situational parameters, beneficiary needs, available resources and technical possibilities.
  • In collaboration with programs team, BDP advisor should ensure that project planning tools (implementation plans, procurement plans, spend plans, M&E plans) are elaborated, shared and used on a monthly basis.
  • In collaboration with the Grants and budget coordinator, Finance manager, DDO and Programs managers, ensure that monthly Grant Review meetings are conducted and actions are followed up.
  • Assist Program Coordinators to develop and maintain monitoring plans, work plans, spending plans, staffing plans, etc.
  • In collaboration with Programs manager and Coordinators ensure that quality donor reports are generated and submitted to partners  in a timely manner, ensuring programmatic review and inputs on reports ahead of submission.
  • Provide on-going problem-solving guidance for field offices regarding programmatic issues, planning issues, and difficulties encounters with local authorities and Partners.
  • Ensure a close coordination and collaboration with the operation team to ensure an adequate synergy between programs and operations.
  • Take a leading role in program design drawing on evaluations, lessons learnt and identified beneficiary needs.
  • Support programs Manager and Programs Coordinators to write high quality proposals, meeting identified needs and partner`s requirements.
  • Ensure issues of gender equality and protection mainstreaming are integrated into program design.
  • Maintain an up-to-date contextual analysis to ensure pertinence of all programming.
  • Support the M&E Manager to provide quality technical assistance to all program-specific M&E staff; and ensure they have the capacity to provide high quality data for learning and accountability.
  • Keep informed on monitoring and evaluation techniques and support tools which can be shared with program staff.
  • Assist with technical assessments and evaluations by reviewing TOR, reports and checking quality of activity;
  • Ensure adequate budgeting of M&E , S&S , Media and branding activities in all proposals.
  • Conduct training of Violet staff on program design, monitoring, and evaluation, report writing, and proposal development.

Violet responds to emergencies in Syria in most humanitarian sectors: Food Security and Livelihood, Non-food Items and Shelter, Education, Health, Protection, WASH & Shelter, and Camp Coordination and Management.
Violet integrates the protection sector in all the aforementioned sectors. With the length of the conflict and the survival of people for long periods at stake, Violet’s response has had to not only be focused on the emergency response but on the immediate implementation of long-impact health and education sector projects in all of Idlib.
Violet worked to establish and develop its organizational structure to start officially as an organization registered in Turkey in 2014. Accordingly, Violet divided the work into key sectors that mimic the divisions of international humanitarian organizations and implemented the appropriate structure for all departments and staff.
