CARE International in Turkey (CARE), together with its partners, is providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis, both in Syria and Turkey..

 

I - Position Summary

 

The position will be based in Gaziantep and Managed by The Case Management Coordinator and the Information Management Officer, and working in collaboration with other members of the technical and outreach staff, the Office Worker will be responsible for supporting Case Management Team in implementing community activities per the Case Management (CM) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in Gaziantep. The Case Management Coordinator will be responsible for line management of Data Management Supporter.

 

 

II - General Functions

 

 

  • Agree with the Project Coordinator on data entry activities and ensure that instructions are fully understood
  • Entry of all data agreed with the Project Coordinator into the database specific to the data set
  • Review of the data set with the Project Coordinator once entered into the database
  • Contribute to high quality implementation of CARE’s refugee response

 

III - Responsibilities

 

  1. Information management and data entry support 80%

 

  • Prepare, compile and sort protection documents for data entry.
  • Check source of documents for accuracy.
  • Verify data and correct data where necessary.
  • Obtain further information for incomplete documents.
  • Update the case management data.
  • Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required.
  • Enter data from source documents into prescribed database, files and forms.
  • Transcribe information into required electronic format.
  • Check completed work for accuracy.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Store completed documents in designated locations.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Provide relevant CARE projects staff with required statistical reports about achievements on regular basis (weekly or monthly).
  • Assist the case management team and Information Management Officer coordinator in provide technical support to CARE staff on the specific data required from them in relation to the different indicators they are monitoring as required.
  • Work closely with CARE projects staff to ensure accurate and consistent entry of data received into database.

 

 

2. Contribute to high quality implementation of CARE’s refugee response (20 %)

 

  • Provide feedback from project’s participants and community leaders
  • Ensure the complaints are received by CARE properly and beneficiaries are informed and report on this to Project Assistant and Project Coordinator.
  • Ensure that all program activities are implemented in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures and using agreed tools.
  • Ensure that feedback received from community members is used to continually improve activities and that activities are meeting the needs of the communities

 

3. Any other relevant tasks required by the line manager

 

 

 

IV - Qualification and skills

 

Essential

  • Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English
  • Very good computer skills, especially in MS Word and MS Excel
  • A team player, eager to learn new skills
  • Strong planning and communication skills
  • Prior experience of working with humanitarian organizations in Turkey in a staff or volunteer capacity, preferably with refugee populations
  • Good documentation skills
  • Willingness to work in the Field

 

Desired

  • Ability of spoken and written Turkish
  • Prior experience of working in a non-governmental organization (NGO)
  • Experience working in a community-based role
  • Experience in data collection, coding & compilation

 

V – Work conditions

 

Duty station:  Duty station:  Gaziantep office.

 

Contract length: one-year contract
