CARE International in Turkey (CARE), together with its partners, is providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Syrian crisis, both in Syria and Turkey.

I - Position Summary

The position will be based in Gaziantep and managed by the Case Management Coordinator (CM CO), the main purpose of this role is to support CARE Turkey CM team in entering, reviewing, and auditing CM database, improving the quality of information collected by the digital data tools and supporting the CM team with necessary documentation per the CM Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

II - General Functions

  • Support the CM IM team and other CM staff i.e. Case Management Coordinator, CM Officers and Assistants with adequate and accurate records of information by undertaking regular data entry work.
  • Participate in regular entry of electronic data related to CM activities.

III - Responsibilities

      1.Data entry, information management and documentation of the CM team per CARE’s CM SOPs (50%)

  • Prepare, compile and sort CM documents for data entry and documentation of hard copies.
  • Enter data into database software and check sources to ensure accuracy of the data that has been inputted.
  • Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents from the CM team members.
  • Creating data backups as part of a contingency plan.
  • Responding to information requests from authorized CM team members.
  • Entering data from source documents within time limits.
  • Compiling, verifying accuracy and sorting information to prepare source data for computer entry.
  • Check completed work for accuracy by reviewing data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output.
  • Documentation of the project forms and files.

 

       2. Contribute to high quality implementation of CARE’s refugee response and Information management (30 %)

  • Ensure that all IM activities and documentation are implemented in accordance with the instructions received from the CM IM team and agreed standard operating procedures and using the agreed tools.
  • Ensure that feedback received from CM team is communicated to the CM IM team and CM CO in a timely manner.
  • Internally auditing the collected data by CM team and ensure the feedback is communicated with the CM team in a timely manner.

       3. Planning, implementing and reporting on the activities (20%)

  • Ensure that standard operating procedures for activities are followed.
  • Ensure accountability procedures are followed.
  • Ensure CARE confidentiality and data protection policies respected and strictly followed up.  
  • Maintain regular communication with the CM team on daily basis.
  • Support the CM Team in communication with the refugees and/or host community and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake verbal and written translation tasks as required.  

IV - Qualification and skills

Essential

  • Fluent spoken and written Arabic and English
  • Very good computer skills, especially in MS Word and MS Excel
  • A team player, eager to learn new skills
  • Strong planning and communication skills
  • Prior experience of working with humanitarian organizations in Turkey in a staff or volunteer capacity, preferably with refugee populations
  • Good documentation skills
  • Willingness to work in the Field

Desired

  • Ability of spoken and written Turkish
  • Prior experience of working in a non-governmental organization (NGO)
  • Experience working in a community-based role
  • Experience in data collection, coding & compilation

V – Work conditions

Duty station:  Duty station:  Gaziantep, with travel to field sites

Field work:  When and as requested by the CM CO.

Contract length: one-year contract
