Who we are?

IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook various dishes according to nutritionist recipes.
• Ensure meals are prepared to a high standard, focusing on taste, presentation, and adherence to dietary requirements.
• Modify recipes to meet patients’ needs and requests (e.g., vegan, gluten-free).
• Collaborate with the nutritionist to plan and update menus.
• Consider seasonal ingredients, patients’ preferences.
•  Experiment with new recipes and adjust menus based on feedback.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Ensure that ingredients are fresh and stored correctly to avoid waste.
•  Track food costs and work to minimize waste and overuse of ingredients.
•  Ensure the kitchen and all food preparation areas are clean and sanitized.
• Follow food safety regulations and maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality meals and service.

Qualifications:

• Basic cooking positions, some experience in a kitchen environment 
  Skills
  Proficiency in cooking techniques, and knowledge of various ingredients, flavors, and kitchen equipment.
  Ability to create and innovate with recipes and presentations.
  Ability to manage time efficiently, especially during busy service hours.
  Precision in measuring ingredients, following recipes, and presenting dishes.
  Clear and effective communication with team members and, when necessary, with patients.
