Welthungerhilfe's Head Office is in Bonn, Germany whilst the Syria Response is managed from our Country Office in Gaziantep. Welthungerhilfe was established in Turkey in 2013 specifically to help people who are affected by the Syria Crisis. Since then, the organisation has expanded its program scope and scale to make the greatest possible contribution to meeting humanitarian needs in Turkey and North West Syria. Welthungerhilfe has field offices in Azaz and Afrin, as well as Ankara and Mardin. The Syria Response program includes food security, WASH services, Shelter and NFI services, protection, early recovery and livelihood.

HR Expert in Gaziantep 

The position is to be filled by March, 2025, with a contract duration until 30/06/2025. Employment location will be Gaziantep, Turkey. The position is paid according to SG7.

Your responsibilities

• Ensure the effective implementation of internal WHH HR policies across Türkiye, Syria, and Lebanon Offices.
• Oversee and guarantee transparent, well-documented recruitment procedures for all three regions.
• Verify that all contract templates align with local labor laws and WHH's internal policies.
• Conduct regular meetings to engage with staff, address concerns, and maintain open communication channels.
• Provide support to the HR Manager on labor law matters and ensure compliance across all offices.
• Actively contribute to the periodic revision of the salary scale to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
• Support HR Manager to implement organizational policies and procedures such as ED, development plans, multiple surveys.
• Assist HR Manager in staff planning during the budget planning and reporting phase.
• Support HR Manager to improve best HR practices aligned with internal policies.  
• Ensure a seamless salary payment process and timely submission of social security payments to avoid penalties.
• Coordinate the documentation for personnel folders.

Based on needs, the HR Expert may be asked to travel between cities and/or NW Syria and Lebanon requested by the supervisor and/or line manager.

In Addition to the above, the HR Expert might be asked to carry out other duties requested by supervisor or line manager as needed.

Your profile

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications;

• Education: At least B.A Degree required.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of similar HR position experience in I/NGO sector.
• Language: Excellent in English (written and spoken).

Desired Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Experience:
  • Coordination and organizational skills - even under a high workload
  • Turkish Labor law background.
• Language: Turkish and / or Arabic skills are an advantage.
• Skills:
  • Ability to work in a multinational team.
  • High level of mental and physical resilience and readiness to travel to areas with volatile local conditions.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong analytical, information management and presentation skills..
