General Functions:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Turkiye and under the direct supervision Head of Sub Office in Istanbul, and in close coordination with the Ankara Programme Managers (the PMs) and the Project Support Unit (PSU), the National Project Coordination Officer will be responsible and accountable for supporting and coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting activities of nationally developed programmes and projects with implementation in the Istanbul Area of Operations (AOR). The Istanbul AOR includes activities within Istanbul area, as well as Western Borders areas of the Aegean, Thrace and Marmara regions.
The Istanbul Sub Office covers a dual function with Resettlement, Migration Health and Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programmatic teams led by Sr. Managers, with parallel programmatic growth and interest in national programmatic areas such as Border Governance, Protection, Health, Labour, Disaster Risk Management, and Migration Data. The National Programme Coordination Officer will focus on all areas of Government liaison, staff management and training, and implementation planning and monitoring in the national programmatic areas to ensure that national projects planned and implemented in the Western Borders Region (Istanbul AOR) are coordinated between the Head of Sub Office, the PMs, PSU and the various support services required for implementation. The National Programme Coordination Officer will further act as a primary focal point for identifying new areas of growth for the office in collaboration with key stakeholders in the region including government, donors, consulates, academia, and private sector.
