SCOPE OF ROLE:

ROLE PURPOSE:

To coordinate and support the implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) projects, ensuring high-quality service delivery, capacity building, and compliance with organizational goals. This role involves developing and facilitating program activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and representing the organization in relevant forums and clusters. Additionally, the position requires preparing reports, developing materials, and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Supervision: 

  - Directly supervise the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team. 

- Program Coordination and Implementation: 

  - Collaborate proactively with the MHPSS Manager, Health team, and other stakeholders to coordinate and implement MHPSS program activities. 

- Coordinate with other departments (finance, procurement, logistics, and media) to prepare project papers (financial reports, documentary courses, information materials, and promo) and send them to the administration or the supporting body.

- Activity Development and Implementation: 

  - Support the MHPSS team in developing and executing activities such as community mobilization, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder identification. 

- Training and Capacity Building: 

  - Assist the MHPSS Manager in assessing training needs and developing training packages in coordination with relevant stakeholders. 

  - Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and related activities. 

- Materials Development: 

  - Support in the creation of advocacy materials and workshop content. 

- Reporting: 

  - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on project progress, including updates to the MHPSS Manager. 

- Monitoring and Evaluation: 

  - Work closely with the MHPSS Manager to monitor, follow up, and report on all MHPSS program activities, such as trainings, workshops, facilitation, data collection, and advocacy. 

- Interdepartmental Coordination: 

  - Ensure the programs logistical and human resources needs are met by coordinating with the Logistics and HR departments. 

- General Support: 

  - Assist the MHPSS Manager with additional tasks as requested to ensure effective program delivery. 

-Represent:

-Represent Shafak in related clusters, working groups and task force in coordination with line manager, as well, sharing monthly reports to 4W / 5ws sectors and information to the partners and departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Psychological Counseling, or a related field. 

  - Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably within an NGO setting. 

  - Demonstrated experience implementing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) projects within NGOs. 

  - Strong command of spoken and written English. 

  - Proficiency in Turkish is preferred. 

  - Previous experience in conducting training sessions and building team capacity. 

  - Familiarity with working within a multidisciplinary team. (Preferable)

  - Familiarity with research and evidence-based approaches.(Preferable)

  - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 

  - Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. 

  - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
