Project: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Internally Displaced Persons and the Local Population in Syria Project

Duration: 1 year

Location: Gaziantep

A. Main Activities

• Management and Advancement of Monitoring and Evaluation Systems: Overseeing the development and management of the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework, with a particular focus on coordinating data collection processes
• Reporting: Contributing to both regular and ad-hoc reports for the commissioning party, while coordinating input from the project team.
• Knowledge Management: Taking responsibility for creating and updating GIZ knowledge management products.
• External Communication Focal Point: Serving as the main point of contact for external communications, ensuring the consistent collection and organization of materials.
• Collaborative Activity Development: Advising on the development of program activities in collaboration with partner organizations.
• Partner Coordination and Support: Monitoring and collaborating with international, regional, and local partner organizations throughout activity implementation, offering administrative and technical support.

B. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

Education/Qualifications

• Completed master’s degree in psychology, education or a related field is required.
• Proven ability to work in diverse, multicultural teams in volatile context
• Strong cooperation and communication skills, and empathy in mental health topics
• Advanced IT skills (MS Office tools)
• Business fluency in English and German is a must. Knowledge on Arabic and Turkish will be considered as an asset.

Professional experience

• More than 5 years of professional experience with an advisory role in the German International Cooperation context.
• At least 5 years of experience in results-based project cycle management and in the field of monitoring and evaluation
• Experience in mental health or psychosocial support is required, as well as working with vulnerable groups.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills, as well as excellent writing abilities; experience in donor reporting is highly desirable
• Familiarity with GIZ processes and procedures will be considered as an asset.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience within the Middle Eastern context
• Deep understanding of the Syrian conflict
