Main Job Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Senior Programme Assistant, the Senior Protection Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Orphan and Child Welfare (OCW) programme by conducting house visits to beneficiaries, keeping accurate records, following up on orphans, and reporting accurately.
Accountabilities
Case Management
- Works in accordance with the general objectives and principles of the OCW program.
- Follows all the rules that must be followed within the scope of house visits and acts as necessary for the proper representation of the organization
- Follow-up of orphan cases through field visits outside Gaziantep province (Şanlıurfa, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis).
- Determines the needs of the beneficiaries accurately and evaluates them in detail to establish a correct follow-up plan.
- Handles calls in a friendly, professional manner, even when under stress.
- Update orphans' information on the orphan program system.
- Evaluates the beneficiaries' satisfaction through open communication and monitoring tools.
- Communicates with service providers to ensure effective and appropriate interventions and follow-up, including accompaniment to hospitals, service points, etc.
- Respond in the first place to calls/messages from our beneficiaries.
Reporting & Recording
- Update all processes regularly to the OCW program.
- Collects all necessary beneficiary documentation and maintains an orderly system for each case.
- Makes sure of accurately entering the correct data under the guidance of the relevant personnel for the correct project reporting.
- Provides regular and accurate data for reporting on project activities as required.
- Reports protection gaps/ or any other related humanitarian gaps and trends pro-actively.
- Supports test questionnaires in the field and provides feedback for modification.
- Supports in the preparation of survey questionnaires relating to the project's activities.
- Keep records of household satisfaction and utilization of benefits provided.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Works in coordination with teammates .
- Supports other team members 10 be sensitive with the related sensitives.
- Supports the entire team in the exchange of experiences related to lPA.
- Communicate with Orphans' Families continuously knowing their needs and requests.
- Communicate with service providers to ensure effective and appropriate interventions and follow-up.
- Carries out household visits for the different project components if needed.
- Establishing and maintaining close links between staff, beneficiaries, and partner organizations.
- Works closely with other related colleagues to ensure additional needs are identified and followed up on .
- ln addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, the Protection Assistant might be asked to carry out other duties requested by the Senior Programme Assistant & Senior Programmes Coordinator.

- Awareness of refugee context.
- No problem traveling for field visits to orphans' families.
- Knowledge of the child protection policy.
- Good communication skills.
- Confident and self-assured personality.
- To be able and willing to interact with refugee communities in a friendly and open manner.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to integrate into a multicultural team.
Position Relationship with Other Parties:
- Internal Relationships: All HA employees nationally in Türkiye
- External Relationships: Beneficiaries.
Work Environment:
- Indoors : 60 %
- Outdoors : 40 %
- Working Days : 5 Working Days
- Days off : 2 Days Off
- Working Hours : 08:45 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (department of social service, sociology, social sciences, etc.)
- 2 years' experience (professional volunteer) in a non-profit organization, preferably a humanitarian area.
- Knowledge of protection and key protection concerns.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Fluency in Arabic&English written and spoken.
- Driver licence is a must.
