General Functions:  

Under the overall supervision of Emergency coordinator and the supervision of the  Project  assistant, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation and guiding of the project activities of “Multi-sectoral assistance to Syrian refugees displaced by the conflict in Turkey and provision of Humanitarian Assistance to Migrants Rescued at sea" action focusing on the rescue at sea

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist day to day implementation of the rescue at the activity under the project “Supporting Refugees and Migrants through a consolidated Mediterranean and Flow Monitoring Response" action, as assigned and ensures that operational of the project are carried in accordance with the agreed project schedule.
  • Identify the humanitarian needs of migrants rescued by TCG and coordinate the distribution of food, non-food items and transportation to the migrants/refugees in close coordination with the TCG, gendarmerie and police in the district.
  • Assist the process of referring the vulnerable migrants who has special needs.
  • Assist the coordination of needs assessment for the Turkish Coast guard in relation to migrants at sea.
  • Report on daily activities to the Head of Izmir Sub Office and identify any bottleneck in the operation
  • Coordinate with project team and procurement team on supplies and items needed for the operation
  • Support in identifying suppliers, services and locations needed for the project
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the project assistant.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education & Experience:

 

  1. Having University degree,
  2. Having experience in relevant field,
  3. Having experience on implementing emergency/humanitarian project is an asset
  4. Being able to travel,
  5. Proven analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
  6. Good level of computer literacy.
  7. Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national / international institutions

 

Languages:

 

  • Fluency in English and Turkish is required.  
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Farsi, and French is an advantage.
