Doctors Worldwide Turkey is looking for a Field Coordinator for WHO supported Project for Refugee Health Centres.

Doctors Worldwide Turkey is an international humanitarian aid organization who serves medical relief to communities in need through the provision of sustainable medical relief and health-based development programs over 40 countries worldwide.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Doctors Worldwide Turkey will support WHO Refugee Health Program to improve access to health services for Syrian refugees by implementing operations and activities in Istanbul.

We are looking for an experienced Field Coordinator to oversee all building-related activities. The Coordinator will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and coordinate field-level operations to ensure adequate and efficient service provided to project beneficiaries;
  • Manage the daily project activities in the fields;
  • Facilitate the work of the local field team on various levels;
  • Ensure that the project activities are properly implemented and monitored;
  • In close coordination with the admin team, ensure proper financial, logistics, and HR information management and control mechanisms are in place and adhered to in line with DWWT policies, rules and regulations;
  • Ensuring the efficiency of all building systems. Coordinating site safety programs. Preparing operating reports and budgets;
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met;
  • Maintain regular contact with local working partners;
  • Managing facilities planning and space allocation. Preparing cost estimates for moves and equipment;
  • Coordinating with department heads and building contractors. Managing maintenance of grounds;
  • Ensuring all utility systems are inspected and under regulations;
  • Negotiating bids and contracts for third party workers. Coordinating building security and maintenance services;
  • Managing and supervising all facilities personnel. Overseeing all building functions. Coordinating all maintenance issues and schedules;
  • Frequently brief and consult with the Project Coordinator to mitigate any risks associated with the project implementation;
  • Represent DWWT with local government authorities (primarily PHDs), non-state actors, NGOs, at the field-site level;
  • Preparing and drafting reports with project management and local authorities;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as Field Coordinator or relevant positions;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the related field;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large and diverse staff and teams with a strong emphasis on developing their capacities;
  • BSc/BA in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field;
  • Fluency in Turkish and English are required; Knowledge of Arabic is a plus;
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite or similar software);
  • Encouraging the team and staff; able to mentor and lead;
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Good analytical/critical thinking;
  • Ability to work in an unstable and multi-cultural environment;
  • Have no obstacle to travel;
