Takaful Al Sham Charity is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of conflict-affected population.

Takaful Al Sham Charity partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering humanitarian and development programs, Livelihood, Education, and Protection, to enable them to improve their living practices and their sustainability mechanisms.

Role Purpose:

The finance Officer makes sure the organization’s financial processes run smoothly. maintaining daily transaction records, processing invoices, entering financial data to accounting system, preparing balance sheets, preparing financial reports, reconciling bank statements, helping with budget preparation, and adhering to financial policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Projects Financial Management:

1.Ensuring implementation of all transactions of the project according to the organization’s policies and Donor regulations.

2.Preparing the projects transactions list in coordination with the management of programs.

3.Preparing the financial reports for the project assigned to him/her and preparing the budget comparison with the actual project monthly spending.

4.Coordinating with project officers to ensure reviewing the pproject’smonthly financial reports.

5.Coordinating with project officers to verify the purchasing orders and their conformance to the budget lines in the projects and ensuring that there is sufficient financial coverage for the monthly purchasing orders.

6.Conducting the budgets revision process of all projects assigned to him/her in coordination with the project’s officers.

7.Verifying that employment orders are in conformance to the budget lines, salaries coverage duration in the project and that there is enough financial coverage of salaries according to the adopted salary scale in coordination with HR department, management of programs according to the line manager instructions. ‎

8.Preparing cash forecast reports for all projects assigned to him/her in cooperation with the finance team and coordination with management of programs.

9.Preparing, checking, and submitting the monthly financial reports to partners in all projects assigned to him/her.

10.Representing the department in all meetings of the projects assigned to him/her such as kick off ‎meetings or projects tracking meetings and providing feedback for the line manager. ‎

 Budget and accounting management:

11.Participating in projects budgets design according to the line manager instructions and in ‎coordination with the project officers. ‎

12.Investing the lesson learned in the projects budget design process according to the line manager ‎instructions in coordination with projects officers. ‎

13.Conducting the correct and periodical entry of all financial data and information on the adopted finance programs in the department in cooperation with the finance team and according to the line manager instructions.

14.Checking all the documents of tenders and purchasing orders and ensuring its conformance to the adopted policies in the two departments in coordination with the logistic manager and according to the line manager instructions.

 

 Qualification and Experience:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance from an accredited college or university

Experience with information systems or proven ability to learn new systems quickly

Proficiency with automated accounting systems; advanced computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Word and Excel required)

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities and determination to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be conscientious, attentive to details, and driven by process improvement and delivery of a quality product as evidenced by prior work and education experience

Demonstrated ability to present information effectively to project managers; strong interpersonal and communication skills

Advanced level in English, and Arabic, Turkish is plus.

Good communication skills (both written and spoken) in Arabic and English.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Honesty and strong ethics are required to be successful in this position.

 

Highly motivated, willing to learn, service-oriented and able to work under high pressure and within a limited time frame.
