AAR Japan started working in Turkey in response to Van Earthquake 2011 and was one of the first international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on the ground responding to the Syrian Crisis. Since 2012, AAR Japan has implemented cross-sectoral projects on basic needs, education, food security, protection and health targeting urban refugees in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, and Istanbul.

The project’s overall goal, on one hand, is to contribute in building a protective environment for people with disabilities by addressing their health issues, protection risks, and their vulnerabilities and on the other hand, facilitating durable solutions for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in their interest.

AAR Japan is looking for a Finance Officer who will be positioned in Sanliurfa.

 

Requirements:

  • Daily bookkeeping, including documentation and processing of payment vouchers.
  • Draft financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Assist in maintaining sound financial management of AAR Japan’s mission and in budgeting project activities;
  • Liaison with various stakeholders, including Turkish authorities relating to finance;
  • Administrative assistance of overall operation, including but not limited to preparing official documents.
  • Support Head of Office with all activities related to budget management when needed;
  • Support finance manager and Internal Auditor in Audit visits preparation and keeping up to date finance documentation;
  • To coordinate between AAR and the bank(s)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Employer.

 

Essential:

  • High School Diploma,
  • At least 3 years of professional experience including at least 2 years in a relevant field. (accounting, Admin or logistics),
  • Proficiency in English and Turkish or Arabic,
  • Experience to develop and to maintain the basic function of Microsoft Excel Sheet, and to use the basic function of PowerPoint and MS Word.

 

General:

  • Ability to work with excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work in a timely manner,
  • Willing to conduct a duty trip in the country, if requested.

 

Desirable:

  • Bachelor of the relevant area, i.e. Accounting, Financial Management, Administration.
  • Experience to deal with professional taxation and SGK issues in Turkey.
  • Experience to work with NGOs.
