About Point:

POINT was established as NGO by a group of Diaspora humanitarian experts. As an NGO,

the co-founders of POINT realized the crucial gaps between providing aids and the need

for building the resilience of communities. We believe at POINT that the best solutions to

support the people in crisis should be by a quick transformation from rapid response to

resilience method, as this approach within humanitarian operations is crucial to the first

efforts of a community to recover, rise again, and start to use their capacity, starting from

education and livelihood at the first stages, ending by early recovery and rehabilitation at

later stages. POINT is registered in Sweden as non-profit organization and have missions in Turkey, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria.

Introduction the Position:

To assist POINT office in the implementation of activities through the management of cash and bank accounts, and the application of POINT’s financial and administration systems.

Main Tasks:

Daily:

• Manage petty cash and advances

• Ensure that all transactions are fully and properly documented

• Ensure that all transactions’ documentations are properly scanned and archived as per Point policies and procedures.

• Entering the accounting enters and journals into the accounting software

• Ensure that all books and transactions are entered into the system on a daily basis.

• Review PRs and payment request as per the authority level assigned by the supervisor

Weekly:

• Review Syria books and ensure that it is probably captured and entered into the system.

• Follow up all opened advances and logistic petty cash.

Monthly:

• Support the Senior Finance officer with month end process.

• Entering the month end allocation into the accounting software

• Exporting projects reports from the accounting software

• Prepare the monthly BVA’s for the senior officer to review

• Address partners’ comments for the monthly financial reports.

• Distribute the salaries to the employees

Others:

• Assist with audit preparation

• Perform other related tasks that maybe assigned by the line manager

Qualification & Experience:

• Turkish nationality is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, Accountancy, business management, or any other related field.

• 1-year finance experience with INGOs/NGOs

• Good written and spoken Arabic and English languages skills, knowledge of Turkish would be a desirable

• Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, working knowledge of QuickBooks would be an advantage

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

The contract period:

Employment contract for 6 months – with ability to extension.
