Job Description

  • Ensuring that all projects, whether on-going and are to begin, are utilized in accordance with ASAM procedures, project objectives and rules of the funders, providing guidance to all project/unit staff in this respect,
  • Preparing financial reports in a timely manner related to all projects implemented by the Association in accordance with the reporting formats of funders,
  • Making the necessary preliminary preparations for the financial audits conducted by funders and/or independent auditors. attending all meetings taking place during audit when necessary,
  • Preparing the budgets of all newly developed projects in accordance with the budget formats of the funder, revising the budgets when necessary; preparing all kinds of financial documents requested during the project application phase,
  • Developing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to financial planning, management, reporting and audit procedures for a transparent, effective and strong financial management, updating the present SOPs according to needs and requests,
  • Assigning the necessary tasks to unit staff and following up the process to ensure that the financial works and transactions of the Association is conducted in a systematic and orderly manner,
  • Responding to all kinds of financial information, financial tables, reports and similar information requests of the Association’s Board of Management, General Coordinator and/or managers,
  • Informing the Association’s administration of the financial effects of decision-making procedures on time and on a regular basis,
  • Checking the cash flows and expenditures of all projects and field offices, ensuring that payments are made on time,
  • Ensuring that legal documents (note of expenses, expense vouchers etc.) concerning the financial transactions of the Association are prepared on a regular basis,
  • Ensuring that the legal liabilities of the Association (tax payments, assistance declarations etc.) are fulfilled on time and in full and following up the process,
  • Checking that financial transactions are appropriate to project rules and national legislation,
  • Checking that project expenses correspond with transactions of the Association’s accounting,
  • Working in coordination with all units of the Association, including Procurement, Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, and performing all works and transactions of the relevant works on time.

General Qualifications

  • Having graduated from Business Administration, Economics, Accounting and similar departments of universities (having a post-graduate degree in this area is of preference),
  • Having at least 7 years of experience in financial management, reporting and accounting (having experiencing in public accountancy will be of preference),
  • Having experiencing in working with projects implemented by international organizations and/or by the European Union,
  • Having advanced knowledge of written and oral English,
  • Having good command of offices programs related to financial transactions and other software on financial planning, management and reporting,
  • Having good knowledge of negotiable instruments, documentation and archiving as well as tax legislation, labor law and social security legislation,
  • Having good planning, coordination, work follow-up, deadline and team management skills,
  • Having skills in corporate representation, official correspondence,
  • Behaving in accordance with business ethics,
  • Abiding by the Association’s Code of Conduct at all places and in all processes,
  • Having no restriction to travel,
  • Male candidates must have completed their military service.
