JOB ADVERTISEMENT – General Call for Interns Q2 2023

SCI employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection. We also campaign and advocate at the highest levels to realise the right of children and to ensure their voices are heard.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3:  the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff


ROLE PURPOSE: 

To provide varied and complex assistance to different departments of Türkiye Country Office.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

Reports to: Multiple Departments

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Interns will be assigned to different departments (HR & Admin, Finance, Supply Chain, PDQ, Programme Operations & Country Management) of Türkiye Country Office depending on their qualifications and departmental needs.

 

Interns will be responsible for the tasks assigned by the reporting lines based on each departments` responsibilities mainly for filing, documentation and various operational tasks.

 

Other:

Complying with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to safeguarding, code of conduct, safety and security and other relevant policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social & Political Sciences, Business Administration, Economics or any other relevant field;
  • Genuine interest and motivation to pursue a career in humanitarian sector;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English and Turkish;
  • Good attention to details and to be able to work under stress;
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Outlook) and ability to do internet based research;
  • Strong organisational skills and discretion with confidential information;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively;
  • Proven ability to handle challenging work load.

 

Desirable

 

  • Preferably previous experience (including paid internships) in NGOs or private sector;
  • Volunteering and international experience.

Position holders will be based in Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.

The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
