International Sustainability and Development Yönetim DanışmanlıkHizmetleri ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi (hereinafter “ISD”) is seeking a Grants and Compliance Lead to join our team. ISD is an international development company that promotes meaningful change around the world to help people live healthier, more productive, and more independent lives.

The Grants and Compliance Leadwill oversee all program grants management, procurement, and compliance functions, and report directly to the team leader. This position is based in Gaziantep, Turkey. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

·        Supervise grants team in the design, development, and implementation of grants, ensuring compliance with DFID regulations and ISD best practices

·        Provide the grants team and grantees with capacity building support to the grants team, particularly with regard to the implementation of more complex grant types, financial management, and procurement

·        Review project program grants systems on a regular basis to maximize compliance and efficiency

·        Ensure the proper negotiation of final terms and conditions for grants and review and analyze budget estimates for allocability and reasonableness

·        Ensure the proper preparation and execution of grant documents and grant disbursements consistent with DFID regulations and ISD best practices

·        Oversee the procurement of both programmatic and operational commodities and services and supervise the procurement team

·        Provide overall supervision of program vetting and compliance with U.S. and U.K. sanctions regulations

·        Serve as a resource for the grants and program teams and program leadership regarding grants, procurement, and compliance regulations and best practices

·        Propose and implement compliant solutions for obstacles posed by the complex Syrian implementation context

·        Coordinate with other teams to ensure adequate grant projections and cash flow for activities on a monthly basis

·        Ensure that all grant and procurement files are complete and maintained as required and that grants are closed within required timeframes



·        Bachelor’s degree required

·        At least five years of demonstrated experience managing a complex grants portfolio remotely, including cash and in-kind components under donor-funded projects

·        Proven record in successfully managing teams for results

·        Demonstrated experience implementing donor-funded projects in Syria highly preferred

·        Familiarity with DFID processes and procedures and ISD’s grants management best practices preferred

·        Demonstrated familiarity with procurement under major donor contracts preferred

·        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; prioritize multiple work assignments in an extremely fast-paced environment; meet deadlines, and exercise good, professional judgment

·        Proven ability to build the capacity of managed staff in the areas of grants management or procurement

·        Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; standard proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications required

·        Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

·        Fluent written and spoken English required; Arabic proficiency helpful but not required

·        Ability to legally reside and work in Turkey required.
