Location Name: Istanbul and Fatih Office

Job Summary: Graphic Design & Communication Coordinator will be responsible for implementing Building Markets branding guidelines on all internal and external communication materials used. This person will design all promotional materials (printed & online), reports, program service materials, and all related designs. In addition to design responsibilities, the Graphic Design & Communication Coordinator will be responsible for managing all communications related stakeholders in coordination with the Program Services Manager and Project Officer, in addition to other team members, as needed.

The position will be based in Istanbul with occasional travel to regional offices in Turkey.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Branding Guidelines

  • Ensure consistent application of branding guidelines
  • Implement best practices in branding, design, and communications
  • Monitor social media and other external media platforms

Promotional Materials:

  • Design creative printed and digital materials such as brochures, magazines, booklets, business cards, posters, which are promotional materials of the association, and preparing visuals when needed.
  • Design all kinds of promotional products such as plaques, certificates, and badges that the organization needs; control and follow-up of production processes.
  • Photograph and video recording and archiving of the activities of the organization.
  • Editing all prepared documents to be used digitally or in a printed format.

Social Media Support:

  • Create designs for daily posts in line with the information given for all social media accounts.
  • Create special designs for specified days like holidays etc.
  • Manage the work carried out with the social media agency.

Printing and Promotional Work:

  • Determine the materials that need to be prepared for the organization.
  • Research the company that will produce materials, collecting alternative price offers, and presenting to staff.
  • Follow up on the products going into production.

Other Tasks:

  • Take photos during events and trainings organized in line with the requests of the organization, including arranging particular shots, and editing photos for use. 
  • Ensure storage and organization of all multimedia.
  • Conduct video shooting when necessary, or find a company that will shoot the video and organize the video shoot.
  • Create an organized folder and storage method for all captured images.
  • Manage suppliers and stakeholders within the scope of communication activities.
  • Ensure that Building Markets corporate identity is applied to all communication materials.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in graphic design or similar creative environment.
  • Strong knowledge of design tools (Piktochart, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and similar)
  • Fluency in Turkish and English (written and spoken); knowledge of Arabic, or experience creating designs using Arabic desirable

  • Graduated from relevant departments of universities.
  • Strong communication and partnering skills with business units.
  • Highly motivated, committed, analytical person and result oriented.
  • Strong desire to meet the deadlines and self-driven personality.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Compatible with teamwork, able to keep up with flexible working hours and busy work pace.
  • No obstacle to travel within Turkey.
  • No military obligation for male candidates.

Reporting Lines: Reports to Director of Development and Communications. In the absence of this position reports to the Program Services Manager.

Travel: Occasional regional travel might be required.
