Background:

Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is aprivate, non-profit-making, politically independent and non-denominationalrelief organization, which supports people living in deprivation and poverty,irrespective of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs or theirworldview.

In the South East ofTurkey, WHH implements projects assisting Syrian refugees outside the camps tomeet their essential needs through the provision of food aid. In Syria, WHHimplements projects to meet the basic needs of IDPs through the provision offood, hygiene and gardening kits.

PositionSummary:

Position Summary:

The Hotline Assistant willbe responsible to answer calls to the WHH hotline in a professional andfriendly manner. He/she will be responsible to ensure that all calls arerecorded in a systematic way, and that appropriate follow up is provided in atimely manner

  1. Technical advice and guidance:

Responsible for answeringcalls to Welthungerhilfe’s hotline and follows internal procedures to provideinformation and advice to callers in a friendly, patient manner.

  1. Manage a quality service

Keeps up-to-date withservices and resources available within Welthungerhilfe and across partners toensure accurate advice is provided to callers.

Collaboratively work withother relevant colleagues from the office, to ensure trends reported throughthe hotline are kept track of, and that emergency cases are forwarded to therespective team.

  1. Reporting and recording

Maintains accurate andconfidential record of calls

Provides regular andaccurate reporting as required

  1. General

Respects dataconfidentiality of beneficiary data

Maintains professionalboundaries at all times.

Handles calls in afriendly, professional manner, even when under stress

Inaddition to the above, the Hotline Assistant might be asked to carry out otherduties requested by the Head of Project, or the MEAL department in Gaziantep,or other colleagues as seen fit

Skills& Qualifications:

Stress resistance, to staycalm and polite even in high workload situations

Ability to handle alltypes of calls/problems in a non-judgmental and friendly manner

Good communication skillsto clearly communicate on the phone

Strong computer andaccurate record keeping skills are required (MS Excel, MS Word at a minimum)

An understanding of thehumanitarian context in Turkey

Honest, hardworking and aself-motivated person able to work in a dynamic environment

An excellent command ofArabic, and at least one of the following languages is essential: Turkish and/or English.
