We are currently looking for a full-time projects coordinator to oversee project implementation and manage MLSA’s social media. This is an opportunity to take part in one of Turkey’s most effective rights associations and discover more about campaigning and advocacy for freedom of expression and press, while also finding research options and other opportunities to be creative.

Requirements for this position:

• Excellent reporting and news writing skills in Turkish and English
• Interest in following the news cycle
• At least 2 years of professional experience, preferably in journalism and/or rights-based civil society

Responsibilities:

• Lead MLSA’s trial monitoring programme
• Manage social media accounts
• Coordinate training programs and panel events
• Assist with donor and public reports
• Editing and posting news articles sent in by journalists and writers before publishing them on the MLSA website
• Represent MLSA at regular meetings with partners, maintain contact with other CSOs

Additional information:

• MLSA doesn’t work outside normal office hours but in this position, social media management tasks may continue on weekends
• This is not a project based role; as such, it is a long-term position 
• Complimentary health insurance to SGK; meals at office and a phone line are provided  
• During COVID-19, MLSA works in the office on a rotational basis

Hiring process:

• Starting 14 June, candidates chosen for interviews will receive emails to schedule for initial meetings
• If a candidate is not invited for an interview, they will also be notified at around this date 
• During the first interview the candidates will be required to fulfill tasks involving writing; these will be evaluated by MLSA editors 
• A second round of interviews will be scheduled based on the evaluations
• The candidate will be selected in the first half of July and will be expected to take up the position in August. Those not selected will be notified.
