Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
MAYA VAKFI is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at our main office in Akatlar, Istanbul
Project Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Project Duration: 12 months
About Maya Vakfı
Maya Vakfı is a non-profit organization that offers mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS) to refugee and host community children who have experienced traumatic life events, including challenging socio-economic conditions, domestic abuse, immigration due to war, and/or losing loved ones to violence. Maya Vakfı provides trauma rehabilitation activities for children in the Balat Field Office through creative workshops which give opportunities for these children to express themselves through art, music, dance and movement activities to help them cope with their trauma and aid with their recovery. In addition, Maya also places great importance on integrating Psychosocial Support techniques into the education system through its Trauma Informed Schools Program. Strengthening the knowledge and know-how of civil servants and the civil society sector is enhanced through Capacity Building Initiatives and through its Volunteer Program Maya Vakfı provides training, support and mentoring to volunteers on Psychosocial Support, trauma rehabilitation and child protection.
Essential Duties
- Proactively engage with senior management and coordinators to compile up to date information on their activities, updating and managing the master database.
- Taking a leading role in maintaining and managing the monitoring and evaluation software program, conducting regular checks, producing reports and acting as a focal point with the software provider
- Developing and revising monitoring and evaluation tools and plans to be used by different programs
- Support coordination, analysis and draft findings for surveys as well as multi sector assessments, generic surveys and evaluations as needed.
- Support the revision of M&E tools used by program teams to assess the impact of activities and provide up to date progress reports on targets and achievements, including recommendations for improvement
- Administer regular satisfaction surveys with program beneficiaries and develop a feedback/compliant mechanism to receive regular feedback and recommendations directly from beneficiaries that Maya Vakfi work with
- Support program and grants in finalizing timely monthly reports including a comprehensive database of activities, beneficiary numbers and an indicator tracking sheet.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
- Undergraduate degree in Statistics, Business, International Relations, Sociology, or related field.
- Excellent experience with data collection and analysis, data management and reporting
- Previous experience working as an M&E officer or information management officer with international and/or national non-governmental organizations in Turkey
- Excellent IT skills, with prior experience working with data management software
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Fluent in English and Turkish.
- Ability to be flexible, work in a fluid context and adaptation for unexpected situations.
