Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) is an international humanitarian organization that helps people in need in over 15 countries. We began our emergency relief operation in response to the Syrian crisis in October 2012. AAR Japan is looking for an Outreach Officer who will be positioned in Istanbul, Turkey.

TEAM/ PROGRAM: Outreach

Reports to: Head of Office

ROLE SUMMARY: İmplementation of Project, Management of the Team and Reporting 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the AAR Japan Management in updating, revising or developing program materials and tools.
  • With the support of  Managers, providing technical support through leading sessions, guidance on program activities etc.with staff related to good practices in community-based child protection activities.
  • Responsibility of leading community- based child protection activities such as structured life skills sessions, workshops and community-led events. 
  • With the support of Protection Manager, Collecting and/ordeveloping IEC materials on child protection international and national level, keepingupdated according to new developments in services and rights of refugees.
  • Responsible for comprehensive workplan for the team and managing outreach assistants’ monthly workplan, following weekly and daily actions in the field, ensuring safety and security procedures to be in practice as well as humanitarian principles.
  • Providing support and guidance on a regular basis to team members
  • Following up activities’ quality and quantity for accountable reporting, tracking databases and enforcing reliability.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Educational field
  • Minimum 3 Years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Program
  • Native Turkish language with high English skills
  • Flexibility to work in fast-paced and multicultural work environment sometimes under extreme pressure

Desirable

  • Master Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of Child Protection and/or Outreach activities
  • Familiarity with the local refugee context in Istanbul
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising with various CSOs in Istanbul
  •  Arabic / Kurdish Speaker
