IMECE is looking for a Physiotherapist - Project Consultant to help us being an important team member to consult our beneficiaries for their physical well-being. This position is a great opportunity for you to gain experience in the humanitarian sector and develop your skills. You will be an important member of our team focusing on migrants who has been ill-treated to help them heal both psychological and physical.

You will be working in Nefes center located in Fatih. Your main responsibilities as a Physiotherapist - Project Consultant will be following medical prescription, plan and carry out individual treatment programmes, by assessing patients’ physical state, in order to maintain, improve or rehabilitate the physical well-being of the patient and prevent physical handicaps.

Your tasks as Physiotherapist - Project Consultant includes:

• Assess beneficiary physical capacities, using different procedures (e.g., functional capacity tests) in order to set up treatment objectives with the beneficiary and therefore improve beneficiaries’ health and wellbeing.
• Elaborate and implement physiotherapy programmes, including physiotherapy exercises, manipulations, massages, education, utilization of physiotherapy devices and orthopaedic equipment, educating and advising beneficiaries and their caretakers on how to prevent and/or improve conditions, in order to accelerate and improve activity results.
• Train beneficiary and caretakers on how to avoid injury in order to create preventive behaviours.
• Facilitate group exercise sessions and accompany and supervise the group(s) of beneficiaries
• Actively monitor and report physiotherapy activities (correctly filling in beneficiary files, forms, statistics, and reports) and analyse these statistics in order to improve quality service, preserving beneficiaries’ data traceability.
• Take care of physiotherapy equipment, managing the stock, making orders according to activity and cleaning up the equipment, in order to ensure its continuous availability and quality of service.

Requirements    

We are looking for a dedicated person who has the right personality and wants to help our beneficiaries gain a better life. We do expect our candidates to have the following requirements

• Physiotherapy Degree and license to practice in Turkey
• Excellent English and Turkish language skills, both written and verbal.
• Arabic, Farsi, French, Spanish linguistic skills are desirable
• Minimum of 2-year experience working as a physiotherapist, NGO desirable.
• Good computer skills (MS word, Excel, Internet, Outlook)
• Strong organizing skills
• Experience in working with vulnerable populations is an asset

We offer

• Full time position (Monday to Friday from 09:00-18:00)
• Location: Istanbul
