Karam Evi is seeking a Program Associate for our Karam Families Program to support refugee families in Turkey in several areas, including education, mental health and livelihood to help them regain control of their lives, advance their education, and integrate into the Turkish society and economy. The Program Associate should believe in the importance of effective processes and be committed to providing improving quality services to the program participants. They needs to be attentive to details, disciplined in practicing humanitarian principles, be a team player who is flexible, open to new ideas, communicative, and understands the Syrian/Turkish context.
ABOUT US
We are a Syrian-led organization founded in 2007. We have been supporting Syrian communities in Syria, Turkey, Jordan, and the US since 2011. We've developed various innovative education projects including community innovation centers (Karam House) for refugee teens in Turkey and a higher education scholarship program for refugee youth, as well as have sustainable development and smart aid projects to address the evolving obstacles that Syrians face.
We have built two Karam Houses, innovative workspaces for Syrian refugee teens, in Istanbul and Reyhanli, Turkey, which take on new innovative approaches to refugee education and learning. At Karam Houses, hundreds of Syrian refugee teens learn through access to cutting-edge technology (maker spaces, internet, computers), expert mentorship, and a sophisticated studio design-based curriculum to build their ideas and inspire their community. We are on a mission to grow 10,000 Leaders by 2028.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including):
Programmatic:
- Support the family intake process including applicant evaluation, interviews, field visits, and onboarding.
- Maintain the program databases and tracking tools ensuring they are complete and accurate.
- Submit the monthly family payment requests and reconcile the financial balance records in coordination with the Finance department.
- Submit program weekly updates reporting on program progress and activities.
- Organize program virtual and on-site events including managing invitations, calls, space arrangement, materials, attendance recording, etc.
- Conduct surveys with the family members, via phone, or in-person.
- Distribute school kits, Ramadan aid, and any other distributables to the families.
- Maintain the physical archive of the program documentations such as scans of official documents, contracts, aid receipt notes, etc and update the virtual archive accordingly.
- Support the planning and implementation of the program activities such as, seminars, distributions, payments, data collection, etc.
- Share family members' progress with the Team Lead Karam Families Reyhanli.

- Attend professional development training as needed
- All other task assigned by the manager in relation to the program
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Social sciences is an advantage or any related fields)
- 0-2 years experience in the humanitarian field particularly in the refugee or displaced people context
- Fluency in the Arabic language
- English working-knowledge required

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (excel, word etc) and/or Google Suite (documents, spreadsheets etc)
- Turkish Citizenship Required
PREFERED
- Turkish language proficiency preferred
- Experience in psychosocial or mental health support is preferred.
REPORTS TO: Program Lead Reyhanli
LOCATION: Karam House, Reyhanli
HOURS: Saturday through Wednesday Full-time, 40 hours per week,
LOCATION: Reyhanli with possible visits to the Istanbul Office.
