Our Purpose

The MENTORInitiative is a discrete and agile humanitarian organisation purpose built torelieve human suffering from tropical diseases. We act in some of the world’smost austere and vulnerable communities, who are often devastated and forgotten.  Regardless of race, creed or nationality,MENTOR strives to deliver disease control to populations at greatest risk ofsuffering and death. Our first and last considerations are the needs of thepeople we serve.

Post Description

The Program Supervisor will support the strategy design, supporting the medical training conducting in MENTOR’s office underBPRM project runs in the southern Turkey. The candidate for this position wouldhave a strong interest in providing technical support to staff and partners involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of interventions thatrely on beneficiaries adopting practices that protect them from transmitting leishmaniasis.

The program supervisor will support conceptualization of formative research to guide solution development and implementation and contribute to all aspects of the research continuum, fromconcept to dissemination

Mission and principal activities:

1.     Work collaborativelywith other project team members to ensure necessary program planning,development, resource availability and management activities function smoothlyand efficiently.

2.     Contribute to timelyand appropriate reporting in the BPRM Project.

3.     Supporting themedical team in training, supervision, registration and archiving.

4.     Supporting IEC team intraining, material distribution, and conducting the IEC sessions.

5.     Supporting M&Eteam in training and data collection.

6.     Collating andanalysing all data coming in from the field; separating by location and grant

7.     Working with IECofficer to ensure the efficient management of stock and assets related to theIEC/BCC campaigns, to include: realistic estimations of necessary IEC/BCCmaterials; timely replenishment of stock per location; scheduling of asset useby location; weekly reporting of stock management to the logistics department

8.     Coordination withother actors relevant to the field, to include: participation in meetings;actively engaging with other INGOs/NGOs, Local Authorities, and UN bodies tomaximise resources.

9.      Ensuring the safety of all MENTOR staff and supported facilities by upholding our policy of no branding and no disclosure of sensitive information due to security concerns within Syria.

As the MENTORInitiative is working in a constantly changing humanitarian aid environment,reasonable specific work duties may occasionally be requested that may not fitinto the above job description, but which will help promote over all programsgoals and aims. Includes the possibility of transfer to another similar postacross MENTOR country programmes within the period of this contract agreement.

Requirements:

Essential

·       High reporting skills.

·       Exceptional creativity and innovation

·       Excellent time management and organizational skills

·       Accuracy and attention to details

·       Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines

·       Fluent in Arabic, English, and Turkish all written and spoken;

·       Excellent presentation, oral and writing skills in Arabic, English, and Turkish

·       Ability to communicate and work well with staff at all levels of the organization

·       Minimum 2 years practical experience

·       Valid work permit or Turkish ID card.

Desirable

·       Turkish Nationality is Assist
