I – Position Summary 

Project Accountant Assistant support subgrants team to perform the desk review for partner’s supporting documents make sure that the partners are complying with CARE and donors’ regulations and a site visit to do needed support and capacity building for partners. He/ She will report to the Project Accountant

 II – Responsibilities 

Responsibility #1 Sub-Grants and Contracts Support

• Assisting with the preparation of the subgrant agreement package

• Assist with the project grants start-up and close-out as necessary.

• Participate in the partners training and orientation on CARE’s and donors’ regulations and reporting requirements; 

• Supporting project accountant for performing the desk review for partner’s supporting documents and financial reports and ensure that the charged costs are allowable, allocable and reasonable.

• Conduct monitoring visits to the partners’ offices to verify the compliance with the policies and procedures a

Responsibility #2 Partnerships & Compliance Technical Support

• Support the project accountant to ensure that the sub-recipients comply with CARE and donor priorities, policies and procedures 

• Perform the Bridger check for partner’s vendors according to CARE’s policies /thresholds and update the tracker.

• Maintain and update partner’s supporting documents and financial reports on the cloud storage. 

 Responsibility #3 Accounting Cashier

• Review petty cash ledger including codes and supporting documents and liquidating all cash advances in accordance with CARE’s policy and procedures.

• Process all payment request by entering all transactions into the financial software timely and correctly

• Process all cash disbursements under the supervision of Accounting coordinator including review and filing of supporting documents.

• Filing, photocopying, scanning properly finance documents, vouchers, payrolls, PARs

• Cash count on a weekly and monthly basis 

Responsibility #4

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required

• University degree in finance or accounting 

• 1-year work experience in the relevant field.

• Understanding of computer applications in respect to accounting, budgeting, and cash control.

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Turkish, 

• problem-solving and decision making skills

• Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel

• Demonstrable high level of interpersonal skills and patience

• Technical, mathematical and logical thinking skills
