General Functions:
Under the overall supervision of the Protection and Resilience Officer and Project Field Coordinator and direct supervision of Senior Project Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for providing counselling, case management, information dissemination and referral services as a part of ECM team.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with ECM Senior Protection Assistant, and ECM support staff, to follow up on internal and external referrals to the project and conduct relevant assessments deciding on the most appropriate response.
- Accompany the cases when required and provide information dissemination in line with the national rules and regulations.
- Monitor and ensure the case management referrals are tracked in the available online recording and reporting tools, inputting new cases and updating information as required.
- Respond to the needs of referred cases, as per the criteria and guidelines of the case management fund, ensuring that the support is protection and gender sensitive and follows the Project SoPs
- When required prepare and track Purchase Requests, Payment Request Forms, and other required documents to ensure coordination with the relevant internal support units.
- Ensure that the project expenditures are in line with the project objectives and protection principles in close coordination with the direct supervisor and senior managers units.
- Provide trainings for IOM staff and other protection actors on LGBTI, Protection Mainstreaming and Case Management Principles or on ad hoc topics.
- Develop and maintain positive relations with external partners on case management and referral related matters and provide information about IOM’s protection and case management activities.
- Attend protection sector working group meetings and other case management meetings at the local level, represent IOM when required and report the meetings accordingly.
- Support the Refugee Response Programme with other tasks when required and undertake visits to the field.
- Support the direct supervisor on regular reporting processes and support to develop reporting and tracking tools.
- Work in close coordination with other units to ensure proceedings are in line with IOM Internal support mechanisms and guide ECM colleagues in this regard when needed.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education
- University degree in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Social Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; or
- Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
- Experiences in case management, protection, support activities in emergencies or field related activities.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and Turkish is required.
- Working knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
