About SENED

 

Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No.27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.

 

Job Purpose:

·      To coordinate and supervise the implementation of all project activities in Turkey and ensure their execution within time, budget and quality.

 

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties:

o   Participate as required in project kick-off, close-out and review meetings. Ensure documentation and follow up of action points in a timely manner.

o   Follow-up on the implementation of projects and activities on a daily manner. This includes directing activities, avoiding mistakes, and receiving and submitting projects reports.

o   Prepare, develop the reports to be submitted to donors. These could include daily, weekly, quarterly, progress and final reports.

o   Communicate and coordinate with the other project team members and follow up the implementation of activities with them.

o   Coordinate and follow-up with other departments in relation to projects activities.

o   Prepare weekly implementation work plans and follow up the implementation with the field team.

o   Participate in the offers opening, and procurement committee to evaluate the competing bids and help choose the winning bid.

o   Follow up on the project agreement conditions when asked.

o   Assist in the Preparation of project proposals based on the technical and humanitarian needs assessment conducted by the field team.

o   Ensure, with the finance department, that activities and expenses are regularly monitored and, as needed, action plans with follow-up are developed to correct any over- or underspending in a timely manner.

o   Upon delegation by line manager, represent Sened organization and the programs department and ensure effective participation in meetings and workshops with partners, donors, and other parties.

o   Check, review and validate bills and payment requests related to the project before submission to the finance department.

o   Prepare, update and review the project’s data and databases.

o   Submit a handover report at the end of your contract.

 

o   Any other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.

Team Management:

o   Manage and supervise your team. Delegate tasks when needed.

o   Support the team in the management of the project activities and the staff management.

o   Evaluate the competency of the directly managed staff; build their capacity accordingly and identify their training needs.

o   Organize the team annual leaves and plan for replacements.

o   Identify the training needs of the team, conduct trainings, follow up and evaluations.

o   Implement staff meetings and report to your line manager.

o   Participate in the recruitment process of your team.

 

o   Report any HR issues to the line manager and resolve team conflicts by actively involving HR department.

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential:

§   Bachelor Degree.

§   Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar position.

 

§   Advanced skills in the English language.

Desirable:

§   Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or any other relevant field.

§   Certified PMD Pro1.

§   Intermediate skills in the Turkish language.

§   Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.

 

§   Verified experience in dealing with donor’s policies, procedures, requirements and compliance.
