The development sector faces particular hurdles that derive from the complexity of global problems. Difficulties in changing the behavior of beneficiaries, the barriers encountered in scaling, failure to respond to change, and the challenge of properly measuring impact are getting more and more inevitable in the development world. Nevertheless, the development sector needs an innovative mindset and, to the same extent, an innovative programming strategy. 

Innovation for Development (I4D) was founded to answer the fundamental question: How can we generate innovative ideas and develop better responses to the world’s toughest problems?

The role:

I4D is recruiting a Project Officer (Training & Mentorship) who will lead all activities related to the development of impact-oriented training for our project on the digitalization of women-led SMEs. The Project Officer will organize training related to the needs of the SMEs as revealed by a needs assessment and will align training focus areas accordingly. The Project Officer will also arrange beneficial mentorship matches between SMEs and the mentor pool for technical support.

This Project Officer (Training & Mentorship) is responsible for:

  • Designs relevant training materials related to SME needs assessment findings

  • Ensures SME satisfaction with training and technical support and maintains that the project adapts to the unique needs of SMEs

  • Creates and leverages stakeholder relationships to the benefit of SMEs for increased market opportunity

  • Utilize tools such as Mentority for the mangement of mentorship activities

  • Contribute  to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
