SUT Danismanlik Tic. Ltd. Sti. is a limited company established in 2017 in Ankara and has 3 branches in total located in Antep and Istanbul. We are providing various services for our local and international clients such as human resources management, financial counselling, project management and development, translation services, organizing trainings for capacity building, market research, technical counselling for public institutions and private corporations.

SUT Danismanlik is advertising for the following position: PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA MANAGER

Requirements and Competencies:

Education: Essential: Degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science or related university degree
Experience:

Essential: Previous working experience in communications, journalism or public relations

Desirable: Experience working with NGOs in developing countries

Languages:

Essential: Fluent in Turkish and English

Desirable: Command of other languages (e.g Arabic, French, Spanish) is desirable

Knowledge:

Essential: Computer literacy (Word, Excel and digital media) and ability to learn about new software and internal systems

Desirable: Knowledge of Word Press, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Hootsuite or simile SM monitoring/analytics platforms

Conditions of employment:

Duration: Full-time position, one-year contract initially
Start Date: As soon as possible
Condition of Employment:

All applicants should have the right to live and work in Turkey and will be subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Turkish Labour Law. The succesful candidate will be subject to professional background check and a probation period of 2 months

Description:

Place of work: The Employee shall be employed at the Employer’s office in Istanbul and may also be assigned temporarily in another city for SUT’s projects, collaborations and businesses with its Customers and/or third parties
Level: 10
Main objectives: The public communications and media manager defines, implements, coordinates and supervises all external and internal institutional and operational communication activities according to the standards of SUT Danışmanlık (SUT) customers in line with their objectives. S/he aims at building visibility and leverage for SUT customers through website, public event, media and social media management. The role also includes monitoring and analysis of communications platforms, content production and diffusion, and providing guidance on Turkish language support for internal/external translators
Main accountabilities and tasks:

Communication Strategy Definition

  • Assist in developing a communication strategy and associated work plan in line with the main objectives of the SUT customers as per rising their profile in Turkey into the medical and humanitarian sphere

Social Media Management

Mapping, monitoring and analysis

  • Mapping of influential actors using social media (SM) in Turkish
  • Monitoring and analysing SM communication in Turkish on a daily basis

Management of social media channels

  • Proposing, adapting, and disseminating post content in various formats for the SM channels of SUT customers
  • Maintaining and adapting channels according to SUT customers’ needs
  • Interacting with Turkish followers, readers and public in general

Social media communication strategies and branding

  • Defining online communication strategies for SUT customers in support of their goals
  • Analyzing social networks about the brands and actions of SUT customers
  • Detecting opportunities that will enable SUT customers to interact with public, improve brand awareness and brand-public relationship.

Identifying and communicating potential reputational crises for SUT customers

  • Alerting of social media mentions that might be damaging to SUT customers’ reputation and projects
  • Advising on the appropriate action to take in response to SM mentions; and implementing the decided actions.

Reporting

  • Providing monthly reports in English

Media Management

  • Building up relationship and increasing connection with key international and mainstream media outlets and journalists
  • Mapping key media in identified markets and assisting in the formulation of strategies to engage with these agreed key media and public opinion makers, including online media and SM
  • Direct media relations-pitching, sending media materials, organizing and facilitating media interviews, briefings and press conferences; and/or field visits, facts/figures information sheets etc.

Public Events Management

  • Organizing public events to raise visibility of SUT customers in Turkey and in line with its objectives. Contributing on the design and implementation of them and serving as a public representative if necessary
  • Act as key contact for external individuals, groups, institutions, health entities etc. interested in organizing events on behalf of SUT customers, or interested in having SUT customer representation at an event

Content Production, Language Support and Communications Training

  • Advising SUT customers on which internal and external communications tools to choose according to objective, institutional messaging and audience at local and national levels
  • Producing or supervising the production of local communications contents (leaflets, brochures, posters, radio spots, articles, photos, videos.) according to SUT customers’ strategies and budgets, and liaising with external translators when necessary
  • Contribution on the production of international communications content by providing data, information, quotes, testimonies, pictures, videos and other means to the SUT customers when feasible
  • Working with the multimedia support teams of SUT customers and the technical web admin to adapt all kinds of multimedia content
  • Developing the capacities of identified Turkish spokespersons and content providers of SUT customers by helping in developing clear editorial guidelines and training on contect and tone for media and social media
