Background:

Global Communities implements programs funded by USAID/OFDA, and USAID/FFP and UN OCHA to provide shelter,food security, WASH and protection support to people in camps and communities in northern Syria.

Global Communities is seeking a full-time Reporting and Communications Coordinator to support the field team in drafting monthly,quarterly, semi-annual, and final donor reports; internal reports to support programmatic learning and documentation; and other reports and communications pieces for internal and external stakeholders. The Reporting and Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Program and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams.This position is based in Global Communities' office in Gaziantep, Turkey and reports to the Program Director.


Responsibilities:

Reporting:

1.    Manage the process for Turkey/Syria program reporting activities, including preparation of donor reports, success stories, and those for other stakeholders.

2.    Compile, edit, and critically review all inputs for ongoing reporting activities, following up and coordinating across departments as needed to ensure high-quality products.

3.    Lead the drafting of quarterly,semi-annual, annual, and final programmatic reports, in accordance with donor guidelines and formats.

4.    Lead the compilation of monthly donor reports.

5.    Support M&E and Programs colleagues in the field in gathering, tracking and reporting data.

6.    Serve as focal point for HQ programmatic information requests, and maintain up-to-date fact sheets regarding programmatic activities.

 

Communications:

7.    Update the Turkey/Syria branding policy on a semi-annual basis or when the context requires.

8.    Support all departments in understanding Global Communities’ branding policy, identity guidelines, and photography guidance.

9.    Manage Global Communities’community-focused Facebook page, developing content in conjunction with Programs and Security teams.

10. Support departments in communications requests, including review of IEC materials, production of videos, and promoting work to a variety of audiences.

11. Any other task, as requested by supervisor.


Experience and qualifications:

·       A university degree, in English language/literature, journalism, communications or related field preferred.

·       A minimum of 2-years’ experience in humanitarian,development or similar work.

·       Work experience in writing reports for a variety of audiences required.

·       Previous work experience with an international organization is desirable.

·       General knowledge of Syria's community and traditions preferred.


Technical Skills:

·       High analytical and reporting skills.

·       Basic understanding of data analysis and statistics a plus.

·       Team player with excellent planning skills.

·       Ability to solve problems in the field with all actors.

·       Strong computer/word processing and standard office software skills.

·       Experience with photo editing, video editing, and design software a plus.

·       Working knowledge of Global Communities’ technical areas of expertise (WASH, protection, shelter, and agriculture/food security) desirable.


Language Skills

·       Excellent command of written English required. Good command of spoken English.

·       Good command of spoken and written Arabic an asset.

·       Turkish speaking/writing skills highly desirable, but not required.
