Job Description

Primary Location

The Human Resources Officer is based in Ankara.

Reporting Line

The Human Resources Officer reports to the Global Human Resources Director.


  • Responsible for the implementation of RET’s Human Resources policies and procedures and ensure they are effective, efficient, fair, transparent and that they promote equal opportunities.
  • Develops together with other departmental managers HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements to ensure efficient and effective implementation of RET programmes; and any other HR function as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Conducts the process of recruitment and selection of new staff including the preparation of vacancy announcements, interviews, shortlisting and conducting background and reference checks for the selected candidate/s.
  • Handles all processes related to employment, probation and termination and ensures induction and exit procedures are conducted for all hired staff.
  • Deals with staff grievances and implements disciplinary procedures where necessary.
  • Responsible for organising and conducting regular performance evaluations of all staff as per the requirements of the HR manual.
  • Liaises with a range of people involved in policy areas such as employee performance, maintaining and monitoring records of employee benefits.
  • Conducts the time sheet and payroll processes.
  • Tracks leave, eligibility and balances of all staff ensuring records are kept updated as per organisational requirements.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for HR matters and handles HR related queries from staff to resolution or escalation as necessary


In addition, like all RET Staff

  • Comply with internal policies, ensuring that activities and their performance comply with what is established in RET's Code of Conduct and other Manuals;
  • Work as a team member to achieve RET’s goals;
  • Manage in a transparent way RET’s resources, fulfilling effectively and efficiently the tasks entrusted;
  • Propose, constructively, alternative solutions to problems that arise in the work area;

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Oral and written fluency in English and French required.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).
  • Flexibility to manage different tasks effectively and willingness to put in extra hours when required.
