Job Title: Senior FSL Project Coordinator 

Reporting to: Head of Programmes 

  • About Human Appeal:  

Human Appeal international (HA) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organization that works in 25 countries around the world since 1991. 

  • Background: 

Since 2013 HA has set up an office in Turkey. HA is an active Organization to provide all kind of emergency aid and support to the affected people by conflict in Syria. HA is responding in Education, Food and livelihood, WASH, Shelter and many other Sectors. 

  • The Purpose Of Position: 

The Senior FSL Project Coordinator oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of related to ongoing project activities in Syria, including planning, organizing, staff leading and controlling project activities. 

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Plan the delivery of the overall projects and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of Human Appeal.  

  1. Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the projects. 

  1. Provide guidance and direction to the projects team on achieving agreed targets and long-term strategic objectives. 

  1. Contribute and lead projects development efforts by identifying opportunities and working with projects team to draft proposals to respond to those opportunities. 

  1. Identify and evaluate the risks and possible threats associated with projects activities and take appropriate action to control the risks. 

  1. Oversee the preparation and submission of technical and projects reports as per the grants agreement. 

  1. Establish and maintain systems for projects operations in accordance with HA policies and procedures. 

  1. Ensure that projects activities comply with all donor’s legislation and professional and humanitarian standards. 

  1. Provide guidance to project staff on all issues related to projects implementation. 

  1. In coordination and collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Department, develop a projects evaluation system to assess the strengths of each program and to identify and implement action plans regarding areas for improvement. 

  1. Follow up Monitoring and Evaluation reports, recommend and implement changes to enhance the projects as appropriate 

  1. Prepare the Employment Plan, Yearly – quarterly to projects department according to grants. 

  1. Develop an annual program budget and operating plan to support the projects, coordination closely with all other key departments including Finance, HR, logistic 

  1. In collaboration with the HoP and Finance Manager maintain of all projects financial activities and monitor the budget for each program. 

  1. Manage all projects funds according to established accounting policies and procedures as per HA regulations and donor compliance. 

  1. Maintain effective communication and relation with donors and other stakeholders. 

  1. Accomplish human resource objectives by developing job descriptions, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions. 

  1. Any other duties assigned by the HoP. 

 

  • Minimum Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in business administration, development studies, social sciences or related field. 

  • Minimum of 5 years successful leading, managing, and implementing emergency response projects, preferably in a conflict situation. 

  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and development sectors, and experience with and knowledge of humanitarian standards. 

  • High knowledge in Proposal’s writing and concept notes in English. 

  • Background and knowledge wıth UN agencies and other INGO’s Rules and Regulations. 

  • Excellent time management skills, Leadership, problem solving, and teambuilding skills. 

  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills. 

  • Able to communicate verbally and written in English, Arabic and preferably Turkish. 

  • Good Computer Skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Ms. Project). 

  • Punctuality and respect for rules and procedures. 

  • Preferably Turkish nationality 

  • Duty Station: 

The position will be based in Turkey, 70% in the office and 30% in the field.
