The Senior Psychologist is expected to perform the following duties

We stand with people, with refugees, returnees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s), alongside the host communities adopting the fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.

Job Summary

  • Oversee RET’s community-based protection programme including case management, specialized psychosocial support and all other protection activities.
  • Work in close coordination with the Program Manager to plan and schedule activities
  • Attend supervision sessions, follow-up meetings and staff trainings
  • Monitor and report on activity progress and draft detailed field reports on challenges, success stories and best practices
  • Facilitate coordination of protection activities, support planning, and collaborate with Program Manager to ensure quality implementation.
  • Support all staff through the provision of technical support, trainings and guidance by the help of Program Manager and ensure that staff implement and respect best-practices and international standards in protection mainstreaming.
  • Analyse protection trends and develop / adjust program strategies to meet needs
  • Contribute to program design and the preparation of future concept notes and proposals
  • Develop guidance, resources, and tools to enable RET staff to identify and address protection risks in the field
  • Develop guides, manuals and informative printed and digital materials for the staff and the beneficiaries
  • Supervise and coach the protection team
  • Provide psycho-education trainings and awareness raising sessions, both in-centre and as part of outreach activities to increase the accessability of specialized PSS support
  • Measure and monitor the progress in psychosocial wellbeing of the all beneficiaries of specialized pyschosocial support activities using relevant tools/scales
  • Conduct protection needs assessments among the affected populations
  • Map points of service for vulnerable individuals, and identify points of entry and support structures for reinforcement
  • Conduct mapping and develop referral pathways in target locations by reaching out to and partner with relevant local actors
  • Identify and reinforce existing support mechanisms and work closely with local and regional counterparts to ensure community buy-in and cultural appropriateness of activities
  • Identify the risks and mitigate the SGBV for prevention and protection in liaison with RET staff
  • Follow GBV and Protection Working Groups regularly and support Program Manager to disseminate the information coming from the related working group(s).
  • Work in close collaboration with case management team for holistic approach to support vulnerable individiuals
  • Build capacity staff in the Project to offer professional and confidential services including referrals to SGBV survivors: developing a referral database, referral pathways, facilitation of contact between service provider and survivor, survivor consent to share information by using the Inter-Agency Referral Form
  • Any other duties related to the nature of the job as directed by the Management.

 Qualifications and Experience Required

We are searching for a Senior Psychologist with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or any relevant area of expertise (Counseling Psychology, Social Science, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Gender or related technical fieldst Teaching etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in working in international non-governmental organizations or UN institutions
  • Advanced Turkish and English language skills.
  • Prior experience in working with refugees, non-Syrian refugees in particular.
  • Strong knowledge of Humanitarian Principles, Protection framework, conflicts setting, IDPs, refugees and refugee issues in Turkey.
  • Excellent skills and experience in research and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent and dynamic facilitation skills both in one by one and in a group setting
