Welthungerhilfe's Head Office is in Bonn, Germany whilst the Syria Response is managed from our Country Office in Gaziantep. Welthungerhilfe was established in Turkey in 2013 specifically to help people who are affected by the Syria Crisis. Since then, the organisation has expanded its program scope and scale to make the greatest possible contribution to meeting humanitarian needs in Turkey and North West Syria. Welthungerhilfe has field offices in Azaz and Afrin, as well as Gaziantep, Hatay and Mardin. The Syria Response program includes food security, WASH services, Shelter and NFI services, protection, early recovery and livelihood.

The position is to be filled by March 15, 2025, with a contract duration until 30.06.2025. Employment location will be Gaziantep, Turkey. 

Your responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Turkish accounting activities and submit all needed reports on timely manner.
• Responsible for annual reports to the department of associations.
• Review Suppliers invoices and contracts from legal accounting perspective.
• Focal person for contacts with the department of association on any accounting, personnel, administrative matters, and any other general procedures.
• Supports HR department in calculations of SGK and other entitlements.
• Focal person for VAT exemption application.
• Responsible for submitting Withholding tax, stamp duty, and BES.
• Submission of Syria payment approval process if required including Quarterly due reports.
• Steps in as replacement for other staff in the finance department during absences.
• In an event of an audit by the Turkish government agencies, the CPA will be responsible for having fulfilled the standards for document preparation according to Turkish legal requirements.
• Provides advice and takes action about legal accounting rules to finance department and other departments.

In addition to the above, the CPA may be asked to carry out other duties as requested by the supervisors and line managers.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications;

• Education: At least B.A Degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or any other related field and CPA Registration must for this position.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience as CPA 
• Language: Fluent in Turkish (written and spoken).

Desired Qualifications:

• Education: Master degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or any other related field.
• Experience: I/NGO work as CPA.
• Language: Good knowledge of English and/or Arabic skills are preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High mental and physical resilience with readiness to travel.
