About the job

Under the direct line management of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, this role entails serving as the primary focal point for communication and contact with programme participants to ensure effective and quality implementation of Economic Recovery activities. The Economic Recovery Assistant will serve as the receptionist at DRC’s livelihoods center and provide intake sessions to enroll people of concerns in the programme. The incumbent will provide support to Economic Recovery Officer Wage Employment & Private Sector Engagement and Economic Recovery Officer Self-Employment & Venture Support to ensure the smooth implementation of the activities. The Economic Recovery Assistant is expected to coordinate with the officers to receive market-related information and technical guidance and to share information and opportunities with the livelihoods center visitors on a daily basis.

The role of this position focuses on provide support to programme participants to select self or wage employment pathways based on previous experience and advise based on social and capacity assessment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Main Programme Implementation Tasks:

  • Conduct wage and self-employment intake sessions with potential programme participants from refugee and host communities in the geographic area of assignment.
  • Constantly share feedback and observations about intake forms and local community trends with the Economic Recovery Team Leader.
  • Conduct quality follow-up sessions with Economic Recovery activities’ participants and ensure feedback is reported to component Officers and Economic Recovery Team Leader.
  • Ensure possible protection and safety risks are captured within the intake sessions to ensure tailored Economic Recovery support and referrals based on needs identified, if required.
  • Support Economic Recovery Officer Self-Employment & Venture Support in communication with programme participants to ensure effective implementation of self-employment processes in home-based business and micro-small medium enterprise start-up support which includes, but not limited to, training invitation, follow-ups, attending selection committee, and confirmation of grant items.
  • Support Economic Recovery Officer Wage Employment & Private Sector Engagement in communication with programme participants to effectively assess job seekers to be referred to the appropriate activity, which includes, but not limited to, monitoring visits, and job seekers contact and referrals.
  • Maintain the documentation of required tools and forms archived and uploaded online.
  • Act as the receptionist for the livelihoods center to welcome visitors and respond to queries.
  • Work closely with Economic Recovery Officer Wage Employment & Private Sector Engagement and Economic Recovery Officer Self-Employment & Venture Support to remain up to date on the Economic Recovery team activities
  • Provide constant feedback on the outreach activities of Economic Recovery team and advise on enhancing outreach to host and refugee communities in the geographic area
  • Engage in outreach activities related to the programme (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts)
  • Contribute to the organization of regular program monitoring of program activities through site monitoring visits and FGDs, assure proper utilization and documentation of program monitoring tools, and prepare reports on the findings with action plans.
  • Support data collection of any assessment/research that may arise during the duration of the program.

Technical support:

  • Contribute to the programme review meeting based on field observations and the technical review of intake tools used for the implementation of the programme.
  • Assist Economic Recovery Officers to ensure programme participants are linked with livelihood opportunities based on market trends and in line with DRC’s decent work framework.

Coordination & Representation

  • Under the supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, proactively seek, assess, and report new opportunities in regard to activities under the responsibility
  • Promote and ensure an active engagement and networking with relevant national authorities and other stakeholders to contribute to the effective implementation of DRC programmes.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Ensure intake sessions are implemented according to MEAL requirements and inform Economic Recovery Team Leader and MEAL focal point activities about corrective actions needed.
  • Facilitate the communication between MEAL team and programme participants to ensure the timely implementation of MEAL plans.

Other

  • Any other tasks assigned by first or second manager in line with the role focus.

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have undergraduate’s degree or higher in business management, economics, finance, social science or other relevant fields.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of practical experience in economic recovery/livelihood working for an INGO
  • Experience in working on individual assessments focus on vulnerability and capacity.
  • Experience working in the humanitarian field with displaced individuals (preferably experience of working in Southern Turkey)
  • Understanding refugees' rights and protection issues, children, and women
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, and Excel.
  • Fluency in Turkish and Arabic
  • English is a strong asset.

Contract length: 9 Months (The duration of the contract is subject to funding approval)

Band: I – Non-Manager

Designation of Duty Station: Kilis Office

Start date: 01.04.2025
