- Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Coordination & Grants Coordinator, the Health Grants Manager will be responsible for the technical, operational, and programmatic support of the International Relations Unit of IHH focusing on increasing the resilience, self-sustenance, and recovery of affected communities, with particular focus on coordination and communication with Health cluster and its related working groups. In addition, represent IHH in all meetings and events launched by the indicated Health cluster and working groups to ensure community support, resilience, and revitalization.
The successful candidate will specifically be responsible for understanding the HNO report and gaps analysis of the indicated cluster in order to participate in grant development and operations following IHH’s regulations, rules, and procedures to meet clusters needs.
The Health Manager will work in close coordination with other supporting units to develop and implement the grants as well as monthly reports to the clusters.
- Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Provide technical, programmatic, and administrative support for the grants development and implementation of the health interventions and assist in setting up the operational parameters for comprehensive interventions, in accordance with IHH policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of consultative planning to facilitate the adapted operational set-up in targeted areas.
- Contribute to project-level gap analysis, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and budgeting in close consultation with the Line Manager and other supporting units.
- In coordination with the Line manager, identify and develop new proposals in line with cluster needs and recommendations. In addition to support initiatives of conducting assessments that support interventions.
- Take the leads on behalf of IHH to be a part of any cluster initiatives including assessments to ensure IHH participation in all clusters and working groups activities.
- Closely and effectively coordinate with IHH units and field office managers to help identify the most adequate targeting strategies at the community level.
- Follow up with the program teams on implementation quality, commitment to the work plan, budget expenses, and achievement, and make recommendations, if needed, for problem resolution and project performance.
- In coordination with Line Manager liaise with project donors, clusters, government officials, other internal and external stakeholders, and relevant counterparts.
- In coordination with Line Manager assist in developing or establishing reporting and coordination mechanisms with relevant stakeholders as required.
- Compile and submit regular project updates/reports and promptly identify and recommend solutions to technical issues.
- Conduct regular field visits when needed in coordination with Line Manager.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned related to the main role.
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- EDUCATION
- University degree in human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and biomedical engineering
- EXPERIENCE
- At least 7 year’s experience in the Humanitarian Management sector.
- Experience with an international organization including the UN and INGO’s.
- Experience in coordination and working with clusters.
- Experience in proposals and report writing for different donors.
- Experience in community-based programming, Health, Protection, and community engagement.
- Field experience in complex emergencies and post-crisis environments.
- Experience in working with supporting units including but not limited to M&E, finance, and supply chain.
- Experience in overseeing hospital rehabilitation projects and expertise in procuring medical equipment and devices.
