Save the Children International Türkiye Country Office is looking to fill various Shelter & WASH roles for its earthquake emergency reseponse at Gaziantep & Hatay!

Currently advertised Shelter & WASH roles are;

  • Shelter/WASH Programme Manager – Gaziantep or Hatay
  • Shelter Coordinator x2 – Gaziantep and Hatay
  • WASH Coordinator x2 – Gaziantep and Hatay
  • Shelter Engineer x4 – Gaziantep and Hatay
  • WASH Engineer x2 – Gaziantep and Hatay

Note: Role holders will be expected to work with varying working hours and outside of their normal role profiles occasionally. They may also be expected to travel field locations as necessary.

In order to be successful you will bring/have: 

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or Architecture
  • Professional NGO experience in the field
  • Fluent in English and Turkish languages both speaking and writing.
  • High level skill on CAD software
  • High level of skill of developing BOQs and Cost estimate.
  • Experience of site supervision and project management for construction
  • Experience of developing and negotiating successful partnerships with institutional donors
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • Proven ability to influence change at an operational and strategic level.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Arabic
  • Experience of designing / leading emergency shelter & WASH responses.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up learning and development processes for a large team
  • Experience of representation, including coordination at national, WG or govt level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of mentoring and coaching staff to achieve their goals
  • Advise on international best practice for building regulations for hazard resistance in non-engineered buildings.
  • Commitment to, thorough understanding of, and able to train staff in participation and accountability approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up monitoring & evaluation systems in large complex programmes.
  • Proven ability of mentoring and coaching.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

Position holders will be based in Gaziantep or Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application. Application will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
