About SENED
Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No. 27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.

Job Purpose

  • To facilitate ToT sessions and supervise the implementation of empowerment sessions for adolescent girls and boys. Supporting implementation of social cohesion and other community-based intervention activities with scope of program targets.
  • Key Activities/Tasks/Duties
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions for empowering adolescent members of both refugee and host communities.
  • Prepare daily plans prior to every session in line with empowering adolescents in self-esteem, decision-making, problem-solving, goal setting, preventing gender-based violence, teamwork, etc.
  • Identify volunteers and participants for adolescent empowering activities.
  • Providing ToT for volunteers to support protection mainstreaming by increasing their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor and supervise volunteers while they implement empowerment sessions.
  • Participate in developing the essential youth-centered activities tools and resources, youth-centered information materials, and activities for adolescents from various demographic backgrounds, and support their implementation.
  • Prepare appropriate materials and/or visual aids in advance of the session.
  • Provide technical support to maintain high-quality program inputs and outputs in the social cohesion, recreational activities, and youth-centered activities in program implementation.
  • Conduct pre- and post-assessment sessions to follow up beneficiaries’ progress toward their learning and development goals.
  • Ensure that all assessments, follow-ups, and weekly progress reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain quality up-to-date documentation on all interactions with beneficiaries.
  • Effectively plan, prepare, develop, and implement youth-centered activities’ tools and resources to demonstrate progress and growth in beneficiaries’ awareness of adolescent members of communities.
  • Positively interact with activities participants and communicate clearly so they feel safe and always respected.
  • Ensure inclusive participation by following an age-, gender-, and types of disabilities-sensitive approach.
  • Build trusting relationships with beneficiaries.
  • Follow up on the beneficiaries’ well-being, attendance, and specific needs.
  • Ensure that all data collected is entered and reported in a timely manner (monthly)
  • Contact participants regarding any updates and changes in activities’ schedules and implementations.
  • Take part in seminars and outreach events for improving capacity for youth-centered activities.
  • Support the direct manager in the capacity of curriculum writing/changing, lesson plans, assessments, reviews, and objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the MEAL team to monitor activities with monitoring tools and development of the tools.
  • Respect and apply all principles of PSEA and demonstrate high commitment to report any sexual exploitation and sexual abuse.

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):
Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, or any other relevant field.
  • Fluent in the Arabic and Turkish languages.
  • Intermediate level in English language.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar position.

Desirable

  • Advanced skills in report writing.
  • Fluent in English language.
  • Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Experience in working with PwDs (People with Disabilities)
  • Experience in working in the protection sector with GBV response and prevention
