ONSUR works through the main officelocated in Gaziantep province Turkey, in addition to execution offices in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, andTurkey.

Position Overview :

Collaborate with a skilled team to achieve optimal results in a timely manner, including monthly accounting data closures, ensuring high-quality donor financial reports, contributing to the development of work methods, and assisting in creating financial tools to enhance work performance.

supervising journal entry creation, performing account reconciliations, aiding in the monthly closing process and internal audits, managing accounts payable, tracking and reconciling accounts receivable, assisting with payroll administration, and creating budgets using accounting software

Responsibilities : 

  • Set up accounts, project cost centers, and budgets in QuickBooks.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Record financial transactions for all expenses related to implementing partners’ projects daily.
  • Archive supporting documents for financial transactions recorded in the accounting program in accordance with the approved policy in Onsur.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliations of partners' accounts, ensuring that expenses are accurately recorded in the accounts and corresponding projects.
  • Record contractor contracts in a manner that allows for easy tracking of payments based on completion rates and for managing long-term partnerships.
  • Generate the financial report for each project from QuickBooks and reconcile it with the financial report prepared for donors, coordinating the reconciliation with the reporting unit monthly.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and cash accounts.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of project advances and financial advances to branch offices.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of donor, implementing partner, and supplier accounts.
  • Maintain the trial balance monthly and prepare accounting reports monthly.
  • Generate a project list report from QuickBooks that cumulatively shows the revenues and expenses for each project.
  • Analyze and organize general ledger accounts and provide information to auditors as needed.
  • Safeguard the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities.
  • Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and provide technical support.
  • Contribute to enhancing the capacity of the team and the department.

Qualifications :  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • one to three years of progressive, relevant experience.
  • Preferred: non-profit organization experience, experience with accounting software
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting/GAAP and Management Accounting/Reporting
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and advanced experience with Excel is required
  • Strong reporting and analysis skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and propose creative solutions, while also identifying issues which need to be escalated
  • Strong project and time management skills, sound judgment, ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to work with colleagues and partners nationally and internationally
  • Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook
  • Ability to adapt and work in a very flexible, fluid, and evolving environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Well knowledge in using accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
  • Special Skills (technical or advanced)
