About the job

Overall purpose of the role: Responsible for conducting Monitoring & Evaluation activities as per the work plan.

Geographic Scope:

This role will be placed in one of the project offices (as main duty station) and will cover the responsibilities of all project offices. This role has project offices focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines at the country level. This role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitoring

  • Carry out quantitative and qualitative data collection activities at the country level
  • Support the design and piloting of monitoring tools to be used during activities and assistance
  • During monitoring activities ensure beneficiaries are treated with respect, confidentiality and informed consent
  • Carry out data collection work
  • Refer on potential vulnerable cases to Monitoring & Evaluation Officer or sensitive issues that might be observed at the country level
  • Keep supervisor informed of any safety incident that might take place
  • Solve problems and conflicts that might occur during monitoring and respond to minor complaints coming from beneficiaries

Reporting and information

  • Submit weekly and monthly reports to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer on achievements and challenges related to monitoring
  • Program participants identified and referred in coordination with the program team
  • Produce periodic monitoring reports to ensure programs have accurate and useful data to inform project development
  • Participate in the internal evaluation of the program

Accountability

  • Ensure that the activities are compliant with DRC accountability principles
  • Support the implementation of DRC’s FCRM mechanism over the country
  • Ensure the functionality of the FCRM channels, especially WhatsApp and hotline.

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have diploma or equivalent professional qualification.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of direct experience of monitoring and evaluation 
  • Training in quantitative methodologies, including database management.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of a range of methods for monitoring, evaluation and assessment to promote evidence-based learning. 
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to design, commission, and manage assessment methodologies and techniques such as focus group discussions, key informant interviews, observations to name a few. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and summarize it for a range of different audiences.
  • Excellent skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build support from staff across teams and across members, and to build the capacity of others. 
  • Proven ability to coordinate effective resource allocation to ensure quality programmes.
  • Experience of working within budget constraints.
  • Experience of qualitative research techniques
  • Experience in international development.
  • Advanced knowledge of Arabic and Turkish
  • Basic knowledge of English

We offer

Contract length: 9 Months (The duration of the contract is subject to funding approval)

Band: I – Non-Manager

Designation of Duty Station: One of the project offices (Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Şanlıurfa). Duty station will be determined based on the selected candidate’s preference.

Start date: 01.04.2025
