General Description of the Programme:

 

Sened, is an independent non-profit organization established and registered in Türkiye (under No: 27-15-175) in 2013.

•The name “Sened” in Arabic means “support” you could count on.

•Sened, was founded in response to The Syrian catastrophe, which led to critical situations and displacement of internally displaced people (IDPs) within Syria. The individuals who faced hardships due to factors such as repression, human rights abuses, and violence against civilians (including bombings, shelling, and sieges) and the urgent needs of millions of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. Later, our projects expanded to include support for the Turkish hosting community of the Syrian refugees. Our work spans across humanitarian sectors, with a special focus on advocating for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and their families.

 

Job purpose:

The Midwife/Nurse is responsible for the provision of women's and reproductive health services together with the doctor in the fixed or mobile service units determined by the Health Directorate and SENED in the provinces affected by the earthquake. Under the supervision of the doctor with whom she works, under the supervision of the provincial officer appointed by the Health Directorate and the SENED Provincial Field Coordinator, she assists in the execution of women's and reproductive health services, service delivery, field planning of service delivery, and monitoring of SENED program principles and methods within the planning of the Provincial Health Directorate.

 

 Duties, Objectives, Competencies  

·       In the fixed or mobile service unit, she works collaboratively as a team with the doctor.

·       It plays a primary role in the reception, acceptance, registration, preparation of the beneficiary for counselling or examination, provision of the service together with the doctor during the examination, guidance and follow-up of the applications planned to be done after the service.

·       It makes sure that the beneficiary's data entry is done in accordance with the standards.

·       Provides counselling services to the beneficiary on women's and reproductive health, pregnancy planning and violence.

·       Organizes and conducts awareness trainings on relevant issues for beneficiaries and target groups.

·        It is responsible for identifying, notifying and ensuring the continuity of missing materials required for the regular and continuous provision of clinical services.

·       After the service delivery, it makes sure that the beneficiary understands the service provided correctly and arranges the next visit.

·       She ensures the follow-up, supervision and support of the health workers works with her.

·       She assists the doctor during the evaluation of the beneficiary, performing general and pelvic examinations, performing or requesting necessary laboratory tests, pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post-pregnancy evaluations, examinations, examinations and tests, which play a key role in minimizing maternal and infant mortality.

·       She assists the doctor in evaluating the beneficiary in terms of sexually transmitted infections, performing the necessary examinations or directing them.

·       During the clinical evaluation of the beneficiary in terms of severity, he necessarily accompanies the doctor.

·       If the beneficiary has requested services related to pregnancy planning, he/she acts together with the doctor in the evaluation of the beneficiary, the provision of counselling and the provision of methods and performs the method presentation.

·       She identifies risky cases and supports the beneficiary in directing them to the health institution at the level required by their situation; follow up the case and informs the Provincial Health Directorate for the case.

·       She contributes to the collection of service data through the electronic data collection system and provides services in accordance with the principles of humanitarian aid and an understanding free from discrimination.

·       She works in cooperation with stakeholders, local authorities, non-governmental organizations and other health institutions in the field in line with the approval of the Provincial Health Directorate and SENED.

·       Prepares presentations/trainings, when necessary, on topics such as needs and experience in women's and reproductive health in the field; shares them on jointly decided platforms.

·      Performs technical tasks related to the program when needed.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

The above-mentioned key tasks and duties are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities may be assigned to the job at the request of the head of department according to the need.

 

Essential Requirements:

·       Having a bachelor degree in midwifery or nursing

·       At least 2 years of professional experience, reproductive health experience, and Reproductive Health Counselling Certificate for nurses and midwives

·       Having an IUD Consulting and application certificate is a plus.

·       Flexibility for working in the field (containers, tent areas and rural areas), in all kinds of physical and climatic conditions

·       Fluent in Turkish

 

  Desired Requirements

·      Knowledge of Arabic and English is a plus

 

Technical Competencies:

·       Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications
