Job Purpose:

The project coordinator will work closely with QC team in Turkey office and the Engineer at development projects department in Doha and other related departments to ensure quality and timely construction of Hayat Shehir City project in Istanbul Turkey, which aims to create a safe environment for orphans to continue their lives and education and to alleviate their suffering.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Submit daily reports on site work, showing the main activities in the project, material supplies, consultant and contractor teams, equipment used on site, weather conditions, photos of ongoing work.
  • Daily update of actual work carried out on site according to task schedules and project plans, noticing deviations from the plan, and matching work according to the approved drawings and designs.
  • Ensure that the consultant inspections the works and materials supplied to the site and that they match the approved samples.
  • Review payments and match all work included in them and ensure that there is no incorrect or unapproved work.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The main task is the daily follow-up of the works on site and auditing of all activities and work teams of the contractor, consultant and project manpower.
  • Auditing and monitoring project plans, matching implementation with plans, and reporting deviations from plans.
  • Ensure and guarantee that the contractor and consultant are doing the work correctly and that there are no errors or damages to the work carried out on site.
  • Supports management in all engineering aspects related to the construction works.
  • Ensure that specifications and contracts comply with the work carried out on site.
  • Provide advice and counsel for any requests for changes in materials or implementation.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes, and recommending actions.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and implementing recommended actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Regularly sharing relevant updates and feedback on the project to the management
  • Develop quality aspects, criteria, and indicators for construction-related work and ensure achievement of these standards by the contractors
  • Effective liaison and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure quality and implementation of activities on time.
  • Maintains reputation and credibility by complying with all the relevant official regulations.
  • Attend project-related meetings and travel as required by the project and directed by management.
  • To perform any other task assigned by the line manager  or when required by the QC

 

 

 Qualifications

  • University bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering or any other relevant field.
  • Experience (at least 10 years) in implementation and construction of buildings and knowledge of design programs and building materials.
  • Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SAP2000 (or similar like IdeCAD), Primavera (or similar like ASTA, Ms Project), SketchUp (or similar like Revit Architecture)).
  • Experience in staff supervision and delegation.
  • Daily follow-up of the project on site and may require travel and attendance at meetings at QC offices.
  • ONLY Turkish nationals will be considered with strong written and verbal skills in English (Arabic is a big asset).
