RI established operations in Türkiye in 2013. RI is headquartered in Gaziantep and has a presence in Hatay, Kilis, Adiyaman, Malatya, Kahramanmaras, Adana, Mersin, and Istanbul. Key sectors of focus in Türkiye include Health Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Protection, and Livelihoods.

 

  1. Job Profile

As a Project Officer, you will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of RI’s programs in Türkiye. You will work closely with the technical Coordinator, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure that project activities align with RI’s objectives and donor requirements. This role involves regular engagement with municipalities, governmental stakeholders, and partner organizations to deliver high-quality programs.

 

  1. Key responsibilities

Accountability and Complexity

 

Project Management

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, monitoring, and implementing assigned projects.
  • Ensure project activities adhere to the approved proposal, budget, and implementation plan.
  • Regularly evaluate project progress and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and raise procurement requests based on project procurement and spend-down plans.
  • Draft donor narrative reports and internal program reports.

 

Partnership Management

  • Support partners in developing detailed work plans, budgets, and tracking spend-down plans.
  • Monitor partner performance and maintain strong, transparent relationships.
  • Review partners’ financial and technical reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely receipt and review of deliverables from partners, including monthly reporting packs.

 

Communication and Coordination

  • Develop and maintain supportive communication structures with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent RI in coordination meetings as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Facilitate communication with municipalities and governmental stakeholders.

 

Safeguarding

  • Uphold RI’s commitment to safeguarding and safety standards.
  • Ensure all job-related activities are compliant with safeguarding policies.

  1. Person Specification

Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in project management, preferably in health-related programs.
  • Knowledge of donor regulations (e.g., ECHO, BPRM, USAID).
  • Fluency in English and Turkish/Arabic
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and patience.

 

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in Türkiye’s humanitarian context.
  • Familiarity with RI’s values and operating principles.
