Turkey Programme Coordinator

Main Job Purpose

The Turkey Programmes Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating humanitarian programmes in Turkey, ensuring effective project design, implementation, and reporting. A key part of this role is leading proposal development for Turkey-focused projects, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational priorities. The role involves managing partnerships, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality programming that responds to humanitarian needs.

Key Accountabilities:
 

Programme Development & Coordination

• Lead the development and management of humanitarian programmes in Turkey, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Identify funding opportunities and lead the writing of high-quality project proposals for donors.
• Ensure programme activities align with humanitarian principles, sector standards, and organizational policies.
• Coordinate with field teams to assess needs, identify gaps, and design effective interventions.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including reporting and budget tracking.

Proposal Development & Reporting

• Develop compelling funding proposals, concept notes, and donor reports for Turkey-focused projects.
• Work closely with technical teams and field staff to develop project designs and logframes.
• Ensure proposals are evidence-based and aligned with donor guidelines.
• Coordinate with finance teams to develop accurate budgets and financial reports.

Partnerships & Coordination

• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, implementing partners, and humanitarian actors.
• Represent the organization in relevant coordination meetings and working groups.
• Strengthen partnerships with local NGOs, UN agencies, and governmental stakeholders.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEAL)

• Ensure programme impact is measured effectively through strong MEAL systems.
• Promote learning and best practices across projects to improve future programming.
• Support teams in documenting lessons learned and success stories.

Essential Qualifications

• Proven track record in writing successful funding proposals for institutional donors.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian context in Turkey, including refugee and displacement issues.
• Experience in project cycle management, including budgeting and donor compliance.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent proposal writing and report development skills.
• Strong coordination and leadership abilities.
• Ability to engage with donors, partners, and governmental entities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, International Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in programme coordination within the humanitarian sector.
• MS Office Suite, Knowledge of using GIS, SPSS, MIS, KOBO and other analytical tools.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Turkish and/or Arabic is an advantage.

Work Environment:

• Indoors                     : 90 %
• Outdoors                  : 10 % 
• Working Days           : 5 Working Days
• Days off                    : 2 Days Off
• Working Hours         : 08:45 AM – 5:00 PM
